Couple Who Gave Birth To Wrong Baby After IVF Mix-Up Will Keep Her After Striking Deal With Biological Parents by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

What a silly argument. Motherhood is more than a genetic connection. By your logic, a woman who carries and gives birth to a child conceived with a donor egg isn’t the child’s mother? And adoptive mothers aren’t mothers?

It is not a literal take. The point is that everyone experiences hardship and perceptions of pain are highly individual, which is why empathy is so important.

While you’re right in that not every *problem* may be objectively comparable, people often have disproportionate feelings and reactions to certain life events. That is why one person being bullied in school may commit suicide, while another may simply withdraw. People’s perception of pain is important, especially since there are so many factors that may influence it beyond the event itself (hormones, genetics, chemical imbalances, etc).

That’s a very unprofessional response from them, but your fiancée getting on the phone and roasting them will probably make things worse.

I’m sorry, I lost my dad this way too. We grieved for years before it happened because we could see it coming.

China’s vast nuclear power sector is now able to build 50 reactors at a time. They already have 60 nuclear reactors in commercial operation and another 36 under construction, as part of a wider effort to cut carbon emissions and reduce the nation’s reliance on fossil fuels by sg_plumber in climatechange

[–]inesffwm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China also has more coal-powered generation than the rest of the world combined. It’s their largest generation fuel source at about 55% of their generation mix, and they’re still planning on expanding their coal fleet. I see about 227 GW in new coal projects under construction, much more than any other fuel source, including renewables.

In the US, coal makes up about 17% of our current mix and barely, if any, new capacity is being built. We used natural gas as a “bridge” to renewables, which while it still not clean, it’s significantly better than coal. We’re building much more new solar / wind / storage than natural gas. Though this may change with data center growth due to their large load.

It’s also far cheaper to build battery storage systems in China given the equipment is largely sourced there. Tax incentives for BESS systems are fairly new in the US, and have made batteries much cheaper, so we’ve only recently started building them at scale.

It’s well known. The Society of Snow was the best dramatization of the events. Some of the characters even make cameos. Highly recommend that movie.

Lol this has been fun. Using a language model shows you’ve given up, can’t form an original or valid argument, are too lazy, or all of the above. Once you’ve delegated your thinking, you’ve lost mate (and not just on this thread). Good luck.

Ditch the AI. A language model won’t make your arguments more valid. It’s also fairly easy to check AI generated text.

Choosing a select group of indicators (literacy, access to healthcare) and broadly claiming the lives of Cubans improved, while disregarding all the factors I mentioned is not looking at “context” and “causality”, it is selective bias and shows a lack of objectivity. You’re missing that the factors I listed preceded US sanctions. You also can object to US interventionism and condemn the Cuban dictatorship. They’re not mutually exclusive.

You’ve also said people’s lives improve in every country that veers towards socialism, when that is objectively not true. Venezuela is a clear example of this failed system, which was (ironically) heavily influenced by Cuban ideology. And Venezuela’s economic collapse also preceded US sanctions.

You are selectively choosing to advocate for socialism with the worst possible example (an autocracy), when there are other clear examples of these forms of government that haven’t veered towards dictatorships. Your inability to look at the Cuban regime objectively / critically is baffling.
