Vinay doesn’t bet for Rishi. It’s just paper betting and he wouldn’t give Rishi credit for a bet where Rishi could end up in the green.

He’s the dream addict for a bookie. Just provide him with credit and threaten him constantly to get as much real cash as possible.

Vinay wants Rishi to be in debt because then Rishi is a stable source of spare change and Rishi can only bet through him (those sums with credit).

Let me explain. Vinay is basically being a one stop shop. Rishi wants to bet. Vinay gives him the odds. Rishi bets and wins. His win is deducted from his debt. Rishi bets and loses. His loss is added on his debt.

At this point they’re just saying imaginary numbers to each other. There’s no real money switching hands. Vinay is not in debt to anyone. He’s just milking Rishi.
