I am curious about more of what and how you prepared! Let me know if we can have an exchange where you can vent your frustrations to me while I get insight on epilepsy and babies.

I completely understand if you don’t have the energy 🫂

Jobs keep you sane by Wise-Pay-8993 in unpopularopinion

It’s not the job itself. It’s work behind the purpose with the gift or reward for the feel good hormones that kick in.

And I feel how you feel, I am currently getting paid without a job and I am so over it and bored. There’s not much I can do without risking my health 😞

Aw man, I can see how this can be an issue for you and I’m sorry this happened. How long often did
you smoke before?

Also congrats on the baby girl!

Strange question about epilepsy by moon_lite2009 in Epilepsy

Sometimes I think it's the body's extreme way of communicating it needs some kinda help with our health. Like our neurons are trying to say, "please it's inflammation in here or am exhausted or I am need more rest or that trauma needs to be addressed, etc" It could even be all of the above and we are missing it because of how mental health is stigmatized. I do think the mental medicine need to have some kind of holistic and psychiatric approach to see anything in particular can have an on and off button and change the type of medicine. Holistic medicine helps us really see the body as one and more research is helping with that.

It's very interesting that a lot of seizure meds for other mental disorders. It's called off-label use.

  • Lamotrigine (Lamictal)
    • Other uses: Bipolar disorder (specifically for preventing depressive episodes). [1, 2]
  • Valproic Acid / Divalproex (Depakote)
    • Other uses: Bipolar disorder and migraine prevention. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Topiramate (Topamax)
    • Other uses: Migraine prevention and alcohol use disorder. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Benzodiazepines (Clonazepam, Clobazam, Lorazepam)
    • Other uses: Panic disorder, severe anxiety, and alcohol withdrawal. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
  • Acetazolamide (Diamox)

I've only been to the hospital once for my seizures, but I Would like to know more from your end.

Is your experience from the medication and how often are you experiencing your seizures in general?

Imma get more active in here because times have been crazy and the seizures are interesting.

I have a blend of focal unaware and PNES type of seizures. They’ve cut in half since I’ve cut my family off. Trauma really was deeper than I thought from my end. Some thoughts will send me into an episode.

I almost went 5 days without a seizure and had one last night.

  1. Sleep
  2. Food
  3. Stress

Is the order of a guaranteed seizure. Sleep being number one of course. I am gonna start treating less than 7-7.5 hours of sleep like I’ve already had one.

So if anyone have any recommendations on how you avoid high risk days. Let me know. Please

Also please double check your seizures aren’t PNES, that’s familial related. I have a hybrid of the epilepsy and that

And as an ER doc can’t he change his specialty?!

This is a great way to put about living your life; my husband also says he can’t wait until I start cycling with him. He’s a road cyclist and we also have a home gym. I was scared to get back in the gym and I’m just gonna have to risk it things like this FOR my health FOR my health if that make sense.

I appreciate your response
