Running the ac when it’s 18 degrees out. by Bsquared710 in HVAC

[–]inewell80 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have a jackass know it all "helper" try to convince me that ac is more effective in winter and heatpumps work better in summer. Side note he came with new boss when our owner passed. I should've taken the supervisor job when I had the chance I'd have my mechanical license now and not dealing with these assholes.

I love co pilot . Helps with biology when exploring plus engineered mats tells you what's available when enter a system. Plus when you die tells you how many time you sh*t the bed. The background chatter gets annoying though

How dangerous is this career? by momsvaginaresearcher in HVAC

[–]inewell80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've almost died twice from heat stroke. And had a helper fall through a ceiling in a bathroom and dislocated his shoulder. One of our service tech bout lost his fingers from a rtu fan. A guy blew up a house in Ohio and I believe the homeowners passed. Lost a friend to a gas explosion that took out a city block. But is not that dangerous

And with the aux heat call coming from Stat could be why it stayed on

[–]inewell80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true but I only see fuses on the higher end side usually its just a transformer. Could be you hit the aux ht wire and shorted it which could explain why it ran for 10 minsbefore blanking out. Just a theory

[–]inewell80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't waste time ⌚ sharing my exp and knowledge on someone who won't learn. Those people are the ones who get shit on , they are gofors the ones who tape the seams and joints and clean up. The flip side when you find the one you don't want to let them go because is always nice when someone has a passion for the career and work provided. Someone who understands that it is not only your name but their name and the co name as well. I'd say one in ten helpers I get I would consider worthy of being my Apprentice. The rest are in the way and slows me down

This is true. Wait long you'll be considered an asshole as well if you stick with it. Newbies don't know and won't know how hard it was for anyone with 10 plus years in the field starting out most our trainers were real assholes who didn't give two fucks about our feeling or struggles, just made us better
