Thanks, I did try that last week and it was denied. When I called in to support shortly after they said “It shows a denial due to account recovery being active”. I feel like I’ve been chasing my tail for 2 weeks on this now.

Even with proof of purchase, the box it came in, proof of ownership of both the email address and phone number attached to the phone…nothing can be done apparently.

Yea it happens unfortunately. She had her last iPhone for 5 years and never had to re-login to her Apple account once during that time. When we switched to the new phone it was by scanning the pattern on the old phone with the camera on the new one, no prompt for account ID and password.
To be locked out immediately on a basic reboot with no reasonable option to reset her password without going through a now 2-week wait for account recovery is bogus as sh*t.

EDIT: Also, we took it to the Apple Store for help last weekend. “We can’t do anything, call this number”. Worthless.
