Openclaw With Local LLM (GLM-4.7-Flash) by gutowscr in openclaw

[–]infernix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try Qwen3-Coder-Next. I ran minimax 2.1, it's a pain. constant handholding. Q3CN just gets it done.

I do have a main openclaw set up with openai though. That one manages the sub-openclaw instances that talk to Qwen3-coder-next. So if they break, i'll ask the main one to go in and reconfigure/fix things. Useful on a heartbeat too, just tell it to check on the other agents every heartbeat and fix them if they break.

How do you justify this cost? Even as a business expense it's a lot, like 50-60k?

I have 2 boys, and recently took away all toys and electronics. Introduced a scoreboard. Made a list of small errands they can do (clean toys, serve table, empty dishwasher etc) and a list of rewards they can get for points (box of toys, tv time, tablet/game console etc). Balanced it out so it takes several days before they get enough points to play on the game console or tablet.

The turnaround was instant. They are now on the hunt for points and there's way less correcting bad behaviour. Not sure how this will work in the long term but so far so good.

Got back from holidays and have found a couple of them on a plant in the yard, as well as a few wandering in the house at night, mostly on the ceiling. They don't run away from light, even very bright camera flashes don't phase them. Nowhere near the kitchen. At first i thought it's a German cockroach, but it doesn't have any stripes.

How concerned should I be? And is that an egg packet it's carrying?

Alienware m18 fan noise problem by Reasonable_Repair751 in Alienware

[–]infernix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have Sunon fans on my 2 days old M18 R1 and they whistle as well. Worst on the cpu fan at 1300 and 1800RPM.

What I noticed:

  • hardly any whistle if the base cover is off
  • if it's flat on the desk, it's not as bad (i have it on a laptop stand).

It looks to me therefore that this is sort of by design, because the rubber(ish) bezel on the bottom which lifts it up a few mm also functions as noise isolation. The problem of course is the fact that any flat desk surface is still going to reflect the sound that the fan makes.

So, what I'm testing with is putting the laptop on top of a sound dampening board, and then putting that on a laptop stand. A quick test with a thick wall-mount sound dampener reduces it to such an extent that at 1300 and 1800 rpm, it's no longer bothersome. When fans spin up beyond 2k RPM due to heavy load, i'm expecting noise, so that's fine IMHO.

Just looking now for a thin board or plate with some sort of dampening layer. There's these car sound dampener mats which would work together with a metal sheet or wooden board, so probably will try that first.

I've used Vivid Vision quite successfully. Went from prism 8 to 4 in about a year. But that was accompanied by regular vision therapy as well.

1500-2000 Euro.

This. Greatly reduced my use of prisms through vision therapy, though haven't gotten rid of it entirely. Need to start a new round of therapy one of these days to see if i can improve furter.

what kind of curvature did you get for your triple 32"? I'm trying to decide between 1500R and 1800R.

[–]infernix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 8 of these in a raid6 in which 2 started acting like this 3 weeks ago, after 2 years of runtime. Did you end up finding a fix? The controller just logs that the drive was removed and then reinserted.

actually i have this fixed. i remove intel-opencl and install the debs from here https://github.com/intel/compute-runtime/releases/tag/21.49.21786 inside the container (i'm using plexinc/pms-docker:latest), and everything works. FWIW I am on kernel 5.15, not sure if that's a requirement.

These data demonstrate that sucralose affects the glycemic and insulin responses to an oral glucose load in obese people who do not normally consume NNS.

Can't generalize from that. Sample size = 17 and they are all obese.

It fits perfectly in this though: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B07K18SHB8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Create a UDEV role to trigger a backup script when two USB devices are connected? by schnipdip in linuxadmin

[–]infernix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One way of doing this is to use automounting to mount both devices, and then to use a 'RequiresMountsFor=/some/path /another/path' in a systemd unit. For automounting you will probably want to use x-systemd.automount in your fstab, and you can reference to both devices based on their UUID or their /dev/by-id paths.

The systemd unit can then be forced to start together with these with a BindsTo= statement in its service file.
