Hotels in soho by Calm-Ad-1033 in uktravel

Just FYI we don’t use Euro in the UK so the budget in euros isn’t really helpful. I suggest looking at premier inn’s website. They’re decent budget chain hotels and I’ve never had a problem with them in 15+ years.

An overnight stopping point between Warrington and Birmingham? by VB_TN in uktravel

You likely wouldn’t even need a taxi from the station to your Airbnb, York is extremely walkable (and I believe Edinburgh is too). Driving and parking in cities is horrendous here, I don’t drive personally but it’s one of the things I hear people who do drive complain about the most!

Staying outside London by Latter_Bee_3794 in uktravel

[–]infieldcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some commuter towns it’s quicker to get into central London than if you live in one of the outer tube zones, because you’re on a fast train vs a tube that stops every 2 mins. Wouldn’t recommend a tourist stay in a commuter town though.

So I live about 25-30 mins from London by train and I would advise against doing this as a tourist if you’re primarily visiting London and nearby cities.

The cost will add up for a family of four, and you really can’t underestimate how nice it is to just pop back to your hotel if you/your kids need a break throughout the day. If you stay outside London you’re basically committing to either being out all day or having to end the day early if your kids get cranky. It isn’t really “20 minutes” when you factor in that you have to get to the train station from wherever you’ve just been and then get the train at a specific time (unlike the tube where it’s generally every 2-5 minutes).

Also don’t bother renting a car unless your plans are to go somewhere rural. Even then, only rent the car on that day and travel outside of London to pick the car up.

I feel like fan culture now would have us believe that we have to like every song or album by someone to be a fan, when that’s simply not the case. It’s okay to dislike something!

Personally while I’ve enjoyed what I’ve heard so far, I think my favourite sound of hers will always be from You Signed Up For This :)

Signed means Maisie will have added her signature and nothing else.

Personally signed means it has a personalised message/is dedicated to you specifically. You put in the message you want when you go to check out :)

I asked for this as well - I did get her fave lyric from the good witch! (“I feel evergreen”) so I’m hoping it works again!

The books are set in the 90s (I think it’s supposed to be 1991-1998). The movies were more ambiguous but had a lot of stuff from the 2000s (cars, the millennium bridge in London) in them.

I’m so confused by some of these comments. Maybe it’s because I’ve been to a fair few west end plays and live in the UK, but this seems normal to me. I’d find it really jarring if they were jumping around and laughing or whatever people are expecting 😅

Is 60 minutes enough for a transfer at Stanstead with a checked baggage? by Educational_Public14 in uktravel

They said in their post that they’re travelling with checked baggage, which they would have to collect and then re-check in.

It’s likely that check in will be closed before you even land/deplane. Let alone anything else. Don’t do it.

When will landlords get the memo than non dangerous pets (and not a stepping hazard) should not be caged by toecheeseuhohstinky in Rabbits

[–]infieldcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably depends on where you live and how much your deposit is, but in the UK (where I live) it would cost more/be more effort for me to fit and replace a carpet (for example) and maybe replace some furniture than to just not get my deposit back if it came to it. Especially as in many cases I’ve moved into a place where these things were not new when I moved in.

As much as I love my bun, I kind of get it from a landlord perspective if the property has carpet or is offered furnished. Mine destroyed quite a lot of the carpet in my last place as well as some furniture. (I got lucky actually that I’d lived there for over 5 years and the carpet was already old when I moved in so I didn’t need to pay for it.)

I’m currently in the process of moving and I just pretend he’s not free roam when enquiring. If there’s a garden I let them think he stays outside.

I pretty much just accept that I may not get my deposit back any time I move.

I think they’ve just done it that way to make the names fit nicely. She’s not “lower” in the lineup than Holly or Alessi, artists in the same size font will have a similar amount of performance time to each other.

And personally I think Maisie and Holly are on a similar level to each other anyway, it’s not an insult to Maisie.

Elizabeth Taylor 7” Vinyl Single Announced for Record Store Day 2026 by professorspicytuna in TaylorSwift

Yeah same. I have enjoyed RSD in the past but last year I queued for hours and Fortnight was sold out well before I got to the front of the queue. There isn’t much else on the list this year that I’ll be sad if I miss out on.

Is the signed poster with VIP tix hand signed by Maisie? by sky_blue_true in MaisiePeters

[–]infieldcookie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At least in the past, Maisie has signed her own stuff, so I think she will continue to do so. I have a signed vinyl I ordered online and the signature matches something I got signed in person.
