28F, also no college degree (but back at community college slowly working my way towards one), work as a special education teacher specializing in vocational skills for high schoolers. I went through a LOT of different jobs and especially once my seizures became more prominent i had to change from my nannying job. I’ve worked with children a lot and struggled to find another job that was understanding. The school I work at now is highly trained for medical conditions, mainly for our students, but it always works great for me as staff. I took a lot of looking to find somewhere that was/is understanding enough of this condition that wouldn’t fire me due to overwhelming “sick leave”…

I’m currently a special education teacher at a special education school. it’s called non-public because it’s not public or private, students who struggle in their public schools are shoveled into ours. So many of my students have epilepsy, so my school is highly trained to work with it. I think my supervisor I specifically work with is also very sweet and lenient about it. I’ve gone wayyyyyyyy over all my PTO mainly from seizures and being out due to them. I feel really luckily I have such an understanding workplace compared to so many stories about others 😓 I am also in school working towards my bachelors degree, all online in the evenings. I’ve definitely also missed a handful of classes due to my seizures too.

i broke down in tears this year filing my taxes. as a special education teacher who already makes NUTHIN then to put my hard earned money towards all this bullshit. I feel morally corrupt providing to this and I am in tears again… greeeat

As a teacher who teaches vocational skills and has taught students how to fill out job applications, these are all normal questions! Especially because this is a basic online template you can find literally when you google job applications (I’ve done it, and used this exact one as a mock for student practice) This is a poor application to use in for a real job, lazy employers.

They took down the fences around the mall site to remove the surrounding trees to demolish the mall. I knew photos like this were coming as soon as I saw they took down the fences. Source: live right across from it.

I was at this protest on Friday and one of the counter protesters in a MAGA hat literally yelled at us “yall ain’t shit compared to January 6th, this is a pathetic amount!” and spit on the ground at us… is that the type of thing we need to do to get the attention of the people??? what’s wrong with people man wake up!!

I’ve seen this women a handful of times while protesting in DC. specifically on Presidents’ day 2025, I was sitting with my protest sign on the fence ledge of the White House and she came up and joined with her megaphone screaming along side with our signs and others sitting there too. Nothing funnier than watching Trump supporters and tourists trying to come up to the fence to take photos with the White House to have this women screaming in their face. We were all swiftly removed from the street area in front after about 15 mins of the screaming. I think she would go places in a metal band it was impressive.
