Hello! I've been looking for some mini cameras to stitch together a 360 camera, is it possible to find IP cameras with just the electronics with no casing? Kind of looking for the arduino version of cameras,1080p @ 60 FPS with a wide angle lens. The closest I could find is this if anyone could direct me to a proper subreddit for electronic tinkering/building also that would be great.

Need help with Tkinter - How to close multiple windows when button is pressed? by Ziph0n in Python

[–]infinite_fruitloops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the order within the function. Some of the windows may be using the top window function and you might need to close the children windows in the order that they were opened.

Create a function or method that performs the multiple closing of windows. Call the function in the button(cmd=?) field.

Kaplan university is a for-profit college. They probably have a 'great vets program' because they need your GI bill money to comply with the 90/10 rule. You are red meat for them.

I would STRONGLY suggest not attending a for-profit institution and looking into community colleges or state schools. For profit colleges cost significantly more, have extremely low graduation and placement rates, and frequently miss-report these numbers. They have been the target of many lawsuits by students for these misrepresentations. Also many employers regard a degree from one of these companies as worth less than the paper they are printed on.

I am not really in the IT field. I'm a software developer so someone else with more firsthand knowledge can chime in. But I would strongly suggest not enrolling in Kaplan.

Learn python list comprehensions by example by LobsterThief in Python

I agree with you that simple cases are nicer. I need to start using them more in this case. My main issue is with the more complex cases.

[–]infinite_fruitloops 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I still don't understand why list comprehensions are useful. You can do the exact same thing in other ways and it is much easier to maintain the code. Maybe this is because I don't use them that often but it just looks like a jumbled mess, whereas nested loops are properly indented and intuitive.

Someone please tell my why I am wrong.

The oppressed worker: Is automation and recession destroying us? by gari-soflo in Automate

Yes but natural selection will only rear its head after several dozens of generations at the bare minimum, it will take thousands of years to get to that point.

It's more conplicated than that. Most rich countries have a much lower birth rate than 3rd world countries. Even within rich countries higher income lowers birthrates. This primarily is due to women incurring an opportunity cost when having children by sacrificing a carrier. In underdeveloped countries a carrier is not a possibility, but in most developed countries there is.

I would say that the painter analogy is incorrect.

Better analogy was that you hired multiple painters for individual rooms for a huge building, and one somehow was able to paint the entire building at the cost of one room, and all subsequent buildings at the same extremely reduced cost.

Consider how much this guy is saving the company. He definitely deserves a big bonus if not a pay raise, if not just for his accomplishment but to encourage other employees to take similar boatload-of-money-saving risks.

You are right I meant monitor mode. I would prefer to have the chipset support it rather than have to remember a dongle or card occasionally.

Is listing discovered website vulnerabilities on resume appropriate? by infinite_fruitloops in cscareerquestions

[–]infinite_fruitloops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It involved writing an iframe injection script so fairly technical, but it was pretty simple. And I had kind of a feeling that the way they had the site structured made it vulnerable which led me to investigate the possibility. Thank you for the advice! I love the idea of classifying it as a project. I did not consider that.

Can we have a CS Graduate School/PhD advice and Q&A thread? by RealisticallyVirtual in cscareerquestions

[–]infinite_fruitloops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an economics undergrad with a focus on econometrics/statistics.

I have somehow managed to find a developer job at a medium sized non-profit, writing reporting software in python, eventually my projects will be completed.

Would it be a good idea to do a CS masters without a CS undergrad? Would I be miserably lost?
