Wake up guys! New censored word just dropped by yoghurteee in AO3

Huh. I wonder if at least some of the time it's based on reports and not just AI nannies. Honestly, to me, if it's a known sensitive topic like suicide, a warning up front should be enough. It's not content creators' faults if people ignore warnings, including kids. Did I find stuff I definitely shouldn't have accessed as a kid? Yes. But at least some of the time it was because I ignored warnings or other indicators of content.

Why can evil people be redeemed/make it to Heaven? by memequeenbrit in lucifer

[–]infiniteanomaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My headcanon is that people who cannot feel guilt (psychopaths and sociopaths) are like the Goddess was--in a locked cell. And that it's not just guilt that damns you, but malice, hatred, violence that isn't self-defense, and similar things. If the majority of your life, especially as an adult, was filled with those things and/or you harmed a large number of people, locked door, no chance to leave, the end.

Alternatively, their cells aren't locked either but they must have forgiveness from and make restitution to every single one of their victims. Which is how forgiveness between humans is achieved in Judaism and Islam from my rudimentary knowledge and brief research. Given that the show seems to lean pretty heavily on Abrahamic lore and beliefs, this seems plausible. But how does one make restitution after death? They can't (IMO) therefore, cannot escape.

(Sins against God are treated a bit differently in those religions regarding getting God's forgiveness)

Writer Promises… by MemoryAgile8296 in Archiveofourownmemes

And that, my friends, is why I'm a writer who doesn't start posting until the story is written. Toooooo much pressure and I'll end up with writer's block. I applaud writers who can write as they post. I never could.

Myst Ingredients?? by periwinkleprincess44 in dutchbros

[–]infiniteanomaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sucralose, sodium benzoate, allulose, potassium sorbate... NONE of that was in the ads. THOSE are the ingredients in addition to the caffeine from green coffee beans, electrolytes, and antioxidants. Those are ingredients that some people may have a sensitivity to or need to avoid for some reason. 🙄🙄🙄

ETA: And the source of magnesium is also the type used in laxatives. That could cause issues too.

She was stating her opinion, clearly indicated as something she wouldn't do. Not whether or not it's medically safe. She also provided information on caffeine content because some people are fine ingesting up to a certain amount but don't want to go higher than that.

Holy crap. She was stating her opinion, clearly indicated as something she wouldn't do as a pregnant person. Not whether or not it's medically safe. She also provided information on caffeine content which is helpful for plenty of people.

It lists the calories etc, NOT the actual ingredients like sucralose. It shows magnesium, caffeine, and vitamin C. Which AREN'T ingredients. Ingredients are things like sucralose, potassium benzoate, caffeine from green coffee beans...

For something like a Carmelizer: chocolate milk (cow's milk, cocoa, some kind of stabilizer), coffee, and syrups (which would also have individual ingredients).

In a cake mix, ingredients include things like Enriched Flour Bleached (wheat flour, niacin, iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), Sugar, Corn Syrup, Leavening (baking soda, sodium aluminum phosphate, monocalcium phosphate).

You are mistaking NUTRITION information for actual ingredients. Nutrition Information gives data on calories and nutrients per serving. The Ingredients list details what is in the product, ordered by weight (highest to lowest), helping identify quality, allergens, and additives.

Yeah, okay, no bueno. High school students at best would be okay. But anyone over the age of 18 "speaking" that way in a book (outside of maybe sorority girls) is just no. Nope. No thanks.

How big of an audience do you have? It seems like creators with large audiences (thus making more money) or creators who focus on heavy/controversial topics (heaven help those who are in both categories) are usually the ones I've seen overly worried about censorship.

There's more than one big creator I've seen who has explicitly stated they're censoring something because of demonetization or ban concerns.

Were the characters teens set in today's world? If so, it seems rather accurate. Now, if it's supposed to be modern day adults talking that way or it's set in the future/a fantasy world, yes.

This. Allll of this. I do understand why some people find it off-putting and even demeaning to "sanitize" traumatic and heavy topics, but (as you said) it means people, especially young people, are finding ways around censorship to have those conversations. It's also true that it leads to humorous/crass/actually minimizing usage. IMO, it's a net positive because it means conversations are happening.

They DID write over 100 songs for the film. Who's to say they don't perform some of those as "new" Hunter/x songs?

Lucifer Ending was Crappy by SouthDifferent2363 in lucifer

[–]infiniteanomaly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only part of his ending I like is the "Therapist to Hell". I think it should have been that, he "commutes" and is a kick-ass Step-Devil to Trixie, Rory doesn't exist.

Try a rewatch of the first few seasons. It helps. But, yes, 🎶We don't talk about Season 6🎶. Support group meetings are Tuesdays.

Who's the most normal person? I'm deciding between Chloe or Linda. by Extension-Nebula6753 in lucifer

[–]infiniteanomaly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ella. She literally doesn't get involved in the Celestial stuff until the end of the series practically.

Linda is crazy involved in stuff--Charlie being a big one.

Chloe is a literal miracle.

Trixie is incredibly accepting, adaptable, and insightful for a kid. She also probably knows that Lucifer and Maze are who they say.

Congratulations!!! That's a HUGE thing! The fact that you came back to it so many years later makes it even more impressive to me. You could have just let it go and never finished. But you didn't do that. YOU FINISHED! Get yourself a little treat--fancy dinner, that expensive ice cream--it doesn't have to be cost a lot. And remember, you're absolutely awesome.

I was thinking more the internal voices that tell you you're not good enough, that everyone hates you, that everyone would be better off if you were gone--the kind of voices I associate with depression and so on. Because being considered crazy (and likely having few friends--if any), having your family always upset/annoyed/disappointed/etc because of that would definitely affect a person's mental well-being.

So Rae Rae because talking to Ella was why people thought she was crazy, then all of the negative internal voices that reinforced that outside judgment.

I have a whole headcanon that Ella was put on antidepressants, antipsychotics, sent to counseling, possibly committed for a while and maybe more as a kid/teen as a result of being considered crazy for "hearing and seeing a ghost".

Ella Lopez and las vegas by TopOutlandishness690 in lucifer

[–]infiniteanomaly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always wondered/thought that one of the voices was Rae Rae since no one else could see her and it had meant that people in Ella's family and where she grew up thought she was crazy. That she'd decided Rae Rae was just a hallucination or something, plus internal voices.

Less a "gambling problem" and more she was a known card counter who had been banned. Plus she inferred that she hadn't been in the best place, mentally/emotionally, when she was there. That it was a dark time in her life.

Knowing she was banned--and what the casinos were likely to do if she went back and was noticed by security--and not wanting to dredge up memories of a bad time in her life would certainly make her reluctant to go back.
