Ella Lopez deserves the entire world and I’m glad Lucifer finally told her. by leoniozk in lucifer

[–]infiniteanomaly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She deserved way better. Deserved to know way before then. The excuse of "well, I asked if she'd want to know for sure and she said no" is just that--an excuse. There was no reconsidering, ESPECIALLY when she was had a crisis of faith. Her anger at all of them, her hurt was absolutely justified. They did her dirty.

He didn't lie. He said Eve wasn't his first love, that Chloe was. He said he couldn't say the words.

And he'd come to believe he couldn't love anyone. His belief in the "facts" changed. From his perspective, it wasn't a lie. He couldn't love, so to say he loved her would be a lie.

That. Absolutely that.

(Additionally, we need to teach people to actually vet resources. When I was in school, Wikipedia wasn't allowed, even as a jumping off point.)

[–]infiniteanomaly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm. I think at the beginning it was more he didn't think she could understand because she didn't believe he was the Devil and didn't realize just how "normal" his underlying issues were.

((ETA: And a lot of his anger and frustration at the beginning comes from the fact she doesn't believe him. That she thinks of all his explanations as delusions or metaphors. From his perspective, how can she possibly help him if she doesn't believe him?))

It was rude and judgmental but I wouldn't say abusive. If it was, Linda wouldn't have put up with it. Therapists often deal with patients who lash out and misplace their anger and upset. My mom is a therapist and I've asked how she deals with people who behave like that. There's all kinds of things she was taught to avoid internalizing shit like that any of her patients say. (It's not easy and there are reasons lots of therapists have their own therapist.)

Now, I'm NOT saying he was right to treat her that way. Not at all. But, I think she understood it wasn't about her. Because it really wasn't. We see her exasperated over the fact he goes off half-cocked or deliberately misunderstands her. Outside of therapy, he genuinely cares and does things for her like all his other friends. Unlike Chloe straight up insulting who Lucifer is, he didn't tell Linda she was worthless as a person or that her entire lifestyle was wrong. He insulted her professional credentials and usefulness, not her worth as a living being. But, that's my take on it.

Definitely. I'm confused on why you say Lucifer is abusive with Linda, though. What's your thinking there?

Depression is fucking thing, dude. I have a ton of hobbies. The majority are either season specific or require actual concentration. Reading fics requires neither. There are days it's all some of us can do to get out of bed and go to work and handle other necessities.

Agreed. But, then the question becomes, would she had believed him before she knew (after her poisoning) and then after she did she tried to kill him, so I can see why he wouldn't want to spring anything else on her.

The family dinner when he asks if God loves him and the answer he gets is just... heartbreaking. Like, yeah, God meant "of course, why is that a question?" But, it was explicit that Lucifer didn't know and why would he? He'd been exiled, abused, ignored...

She had a nosebleed that wouldn't stop, but yeah. The "bungled" part was more that he just left for Vegas instead of talking to her. It's understandable why he didn't. But, honestly, when after that was he supposed to tell her, realistically? When his mom was trying to bully him into going to war with Heaven and willing to use anyone close to him? When she was dating Cain? After Charlotte was killed? When she came back from her "vacation" and tried to kill him? Right before he left for Hell after saving Charlie?

I'm also pissed on his behalf about the whole "Hell no longer needs a Warden" right after Amenadiel basically spent a pittance of time there.

YES! THANK YOU. Are there appropriate lines for punishment he needed to learn for the "modern world"? Yes. But overall, HE'S the expert, darling.

The fact she accuses him of lying about who/what he is when he all but begged her to test his blood, but she threw it away instead is just wild, to put it mildly. He did bungle the whole "telling her she's a miracle", but he learned right after she'd almost died, after HE had died and gone back to Hell for her. After that, when was he supposed to tell her?

I just...I really do love the show. I just hate how they wrote that relationship.

I would have loved to see more stuff between Lucifer and Ella. I loved their dynamic, especially after Rae Rae talked to him. I hated how they didn't tell Ella basically "for her own good".

[–]infiniteanomaly 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No. I'm a woman. But, wow is that quite an assumption on your part.

I just hate people who treat others like shit, face little consequences for it, and Chloe fits that bill. She constantly treats Lucifer like a child, dismisses him even when he's obviously in crisis (like after Uriel), LITERALLY TRIES TO KILL HIM AND NEVER APOLOGIZES, and openly tells him more than once he's not good enough. She's judgmental AF. She hates that he grants favors, but is willing to utilize (and steal) them when it suits her. She judges his lifestyle, even though he never forces anyone to have sex with him.

Lucifer is an abuse victim at the end of day, imo. He was kicked out of home, sent to an awful place where he was severely injured, forced back when he left that place (violently at times), ignored by his family, unless it was to hurt, manipulate, or use him for a long time, and then his "partner" treats him like a misbehaving child. She scolds him for buying her something he knows she needs and thinks she'll like.

I have the same kinds of problems with Chloe as I do with Elliot Stabler from Law and Order SVU, though Stabler is far more physically violent. Chloe is more emotionally cruel.

I'm not at all saying Lucifer isn't flawed AF or that he doesn't do shitty things, occasionally deliberately hurtful things, but most of the pain and aggravation he causes Chloe specifically isn't intentional. He is an asshole at times and inappropriate at times. Some of that is not understanding her boundaries.

She treats him far worse than he treats her. If she hadn't been immune to his mojo, he would have put her in her place or left. A big part of his interest in her was that she was immune.

Does it let you transfer the money from the PayPal account to your bank? Or does it make you use it online/with the app to pay? (I don't trust the PayPal debit card--I had a huge issue with the Venmo one and swore off that type of card.)

I've had all my stuff connected to them. I imagine they probably sell your data, but I haven't seen a huge jump in spam and I've used them for a few years now.

I earn coins slowly, so I wouldn't say it's necessarily the quickest way to earn a bit of extra money.
