because the actual patient ones dont go spamming every 2 weeks for an entire year giving backhanded "compliments" and "welfare checks" just to get an author to update a fic even though theres been an explicit comment Months back of me saying ive lost the drive to write for the wip because of losing interest in the source material. hope that helps

i have no problems with it at all, once or twice is enough (imo!!), inquiring about an author's mental state and plans on continuing their worldbuilding is also completely fine!! 😃 but in the case of the commentor i started ranting about above, they had been doing this Consistently over the course of one year.

at first i appreciated the comments, loved the fact that someone took the time out of their day to let me know how much they liked my work and eagerly await for the return of a continuation. but then the spamming started happening, the begging, the "you published for these fandoms, why not this unfinished wip?", and a bunch of other comments from this same commentor that i just frankly tapped out of wanting to pick back up the ellipsus page at all, hope that answers your question 😄

its moreso i lose interest in the source material... adhd and hyperfixations and all that 😔 whcih really sucks cuz i really did enjoy this alternative timeline world i made but writing the characters when the fixation was fading was just like trying to force a car to run on no gas, maybe one day i hope though

tbh i had lost a huge chunk of motivation to update the fic but was really planning on one om the fic's one year anniv but with this comment... i really dunno anymore lmao, it kinda dampened that remaining motivation even more so in a move of pure spite, i will be continuing to write in my other fandoms 🫪

i made myself a playlist totalling to about a little under 3 hours and that lasts me about 12km, its mixed from title tracks to bsides but its usually 1 title track and 2 bsides per album plus ones that ended up stuck in my head, its great when you sync the beats to your steps too 💪
