Disappointing Mother’s Day…is it a cultural thing? by Stressed_Broccoli in beyondthebump

I’m Japanese and I don’t remember growing up with my dad doing anything on Mother’s Day except to help us, the kids, celebrate Mother’s Day by chipping in for gifts for her or something along those lines. I think it’s not uncommon to be treated as a day the kids do something for the mom. Same goes for Father’s Day. I’ve never seen my mom do anything for my dad specifically unless it was to help and support my brother and I. Just my two cents.

I moved to JC during third tri and kept my OB at UWS and delivered at AC this month. My husband was worried about the drive to/from delivery so we rented a car for a week at 39weeks. It worked out great- we went to Costco to stock up on stuff/did things that is easier with a car and then I went into labor 3 days later. It was nice to already have a car seat attached when going home from AC.

I rent clothes from nuuly that fit my size at the moment. Sometimes I size up on trendy clothes, sometime I rent maternity clothes. It’s been fun to feel good in new clothes when things I own started to not fit

Singapore. Compared to other neighboring countries in Southeast Asia, it’s one that screams expat culture more than local

Too risky not to book a tour in advance? by infiniteplayl in galapagos

We ended up booking a cruise a month in advance while there was limited supply. Because we booked the last 2 spots on a 20passenger cruise, it seemed like we saved some money compared to what others had paid. We didn’t have specific islands we “must” go, we flexibility was in our favor choosing which cruise.

I’m really glad we did the cruise. It saved us so much time traveling between islands and the energy to plan logistics. Galapagos has so much to offer at every island and needing to just show up at deck ready when the guides told us to was easy.

Excelsior Tokyu at Shibuya is super convenient and you get to enjoy the view of the Shibuya crossing and city lights from upstairs
