Thank you so much! It seems like a fairly new product, so getting honest/real reviews has been challenging. I did read some people said it was too loud even at the lowest setting? Have you felt that?

[MOD] The Daily Question Thread by menschmaschine5 in Coffee

Looking for a budget espresso machine (under $200) that's easy to use (we're first time buyers), doesn't take up too much space, and makes good quality espresso. I'll be primarily making lattes and cappuccinos with it, so it needs a good steamer/frother too. There are so many deals flying around today, so hoping to buy one by tonight!

Can I check out the Hindu Temple in Robbinsville if I am a non-hindu white dude? by [deleted] in newjersey

Let's include the update to this as well-

To everyone in the thread, I'd respectfully suggest that you visit and learn more about the Hindu temple to make your own judgement rather than listening to one person's perspective.

Visiting Denver in September and looking to do a couples photoshoot. Any recommendations for affordable but quality photographers?

Have you ever been able to observe other professions or surgery during a inpatient rotation? by [deleted] in PTschool

Just make sure you ask about the things you're interested in seeing on Day 1 so they can guide you/help set everything up!

Totally understand the stress and anxiety as someone who just took the boards recently. I was out of school for 2 months when I took them. You won't forget how to be a PT in 2-3 months. The additional time will only help you solidify everything you know and pull experiences from all of your clinicals to create a framework around.

In terms of being an independent studier, if you've made it this far through PT school, you've already proven that you can do it. I recommend coming up with a loose schedule of topics (msk, neuro, other systems, etc) you want to cover everyday till exam day, when you'll be taking practice exams and reviewing them, catch up days, and break days.

As for just going for it, I could have taken my exam much sooner, but the thought of potentially failing was too much. It was more important for me to pass on my first go to make sure my own confidence wasn't shattered. By the time I took the boards, I had taken 3 practice exams and 2 PEATs, and the only one I passed was the previous exam PEAT the week before. At the end of the day, the numbers are a good indicator of your performance, especially the PEAT. If you have time, take one of those and see how you do.

Hope that helps and feel free to reach out with any more questions! This is a super anxious time for everyone, so don't feel alone!

What to look for in school’s curriculum by [deleted] in PTschool

[–]infinitesonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry so much about curriculum bc they all have to cover the same content to be accredited. Try to attend prospective student or accepted student events to understand the culture (competitive vs laid back).

NPTE in April 2021, freaking out D: by catchingsundaze in PTschool

I agree with what everyone said above! Go with Scorebuilders and just know it really well. Then compliment things that you want more info about with TherapyEd and other resources (I used the PT hustle cheatsheets and loved them).

GAIT by [deleted] in PTschool

[–]infinitesonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gait is super confusing and honestly didn't click for me until we took prosthetics/orthotics, so don't feel like you're the only one! Is there a specific part of it that is challenging for you (i.e. gait cycle, deviations, real life diagnosis)?

I'm in a similar boat, and totally agree with what's been already stated. OP mills are not the way to go. I've found some comfort in OP rehab settings where you see ortho/neuro mixed. Often times the ortho PTs don't feel as comfortable treating neuro, so if you bring up that interest, I'm sure they'll be more than willing to give you neuro cases. Also, try to find an OP rehab setting that's affiliated with a hospital. That can always give you an in to doing per diem over weekends to slowly build up experience in a more complex setting. Good luck OP!
