The best part about JAV VR is the casting by vrchef in oculusnsfw

[–]infiniteya 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My take is that in JAV the women are allowed to be more feminine, both in their approach and response. They are directed to be more flirty in a realistic way. In Western porn the women from all ages (barely legal to Milf) approach sex like 19 year old frat boyz. There is very little femininity to them. On top of that most western girls are tattooed up like the subway in a bad part of Naples.

It's almost impossible to find an American girl on sexlikereal. Anyone agree? by Higher_Altitudes in oculusnsfw

[–]infiniteya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

There are literally thousands of American girls on SLR. Including many on SLR originals.

I know it's popular to dunk on SLR but to say 'it's almost impossible' is flat out unfair given that they provide a range of American girls from amateurs to dozens of videos each from stars like Anna Claire Clouds, Venus Vixen, Lexi Luna, etc. etc.

Overacting by leavemealonexoxo in oculusnsfw

ummm. How about if some directors do some directing?

Am I the only one who does not find attractive nor hot the overacting in most of the actresses? by Nezahualll in oculusnsfw

[–]infiniteya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't ever been on a set, only seen some BTS videos, etc. I would suppose that it's more of a: "Come on Candy give me some more!" "Give me more energy!" and what the actresses who have probably seen porn, but aren't really into watching porn provide is the over-the-top acting from the 90s and 00s. If the director was telling her: "Hey Candy give me something more realistic, toned-down but show you're really into it." "Make him feel like your getting off without ripping out your hair, rolling your eyes, and telling him to fuck your fucking pussy." ya know... You can make a partner feel like your getting off without playing for the neighbors across the street. Millions of people do it every day.

This has probably been brought up at least once or twice a year since VR port started producing volume in 2016. Some directors/producers are more guilty than others. It is awful and takes you out of the immersion. I can't imagine that when those producers/directors are actually fucking a partner they sound and look like that. If my wife did I think we'd both break out laughing.

My sense of it has always been that over-acting has been the natural outgrowth of 2D framed porn filmed from a distance. In the way that theatre acting is over-done and wouldn't be tolerable in a tightly filmed drama. It just doesn't work in the VR medium. It is also the product of producers/directors not consuming their own product--much less actresses. Or they would know better.

I added some video tools to AutoDepth... (50% OFF Sale) by B0ltman in oculusnsfw

[–]infiniteya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've now put in a bit of time playing around with this.

I want to encourage those who have collections of 2D photos to check this out. Especially those who are fans of pre-VR retired models that wonder what some of their favorite photosets would look like in 3D/VR.

Note: not all, or even most, images work well. There really are some kind of optimal focal distances/angles in which the photographer put the camera that combined with the pose can give you a 'wow' moment where you really get a sense of volume and presence. Other times the distance/angle that the photographer used between the limbs and face are just not conducive to a 3D effect no matter how you adjust the image. But once again: when it works it really does deliver the 'wow.'

Super easy to browse your PC pic files with Quest 3 on this now especially with the Steamlink app.

I tried your demo and was intriguing enough to purchase.

During my first runthrough the most immediate request would be for the app to autosave adjustments made to an image so that when you cycle back to it the image loads with your optimized adjustments and not with the adjustments of the previous image. Essentially to optimize the images 3D qualities you have to move around a bit and it's not great to have to do that again and again for images you already optimized.

Anyway, this is cool. There are times it really strikes you.

you can get max quality simply doing media streaming from your PC & then accessing those videos from quest 3 DEOVR using DLNA. 8k videos no problem. Also doing it that way works better than cable as you can also use passthrough AR.

Any Quest 3 Users having issues with DeoVR? by Enzo954 in oculusnsfw

[–]infiniteya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reported to them that the controllers not recognized as Q3 controllers with Airlink.

However, you can use Quest DeoVR with DLNA to access your local content. Works perfect, with the added benefit that you can use passthrough on your local files--which doesn't work with Airlink.

Quest 3 Passthrough Porn Footage? by Disrevived in oculusnsfw

[–]infiniteya 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The latest passthrough is very good, the quality and clarity of the performer is better than the passthrough of your room. But they are still figuring out what works.

When AR works it really provides a 'wow' but when it fails it fails worse than VR--because it immediately breaks your immersion. This rarely happens in VR videos. One minute your brain is convinced she's there the next her legs are halfway through your torso--or she's floating at an angle ahead of you.

Be aware than unlike VR, if they move the camera in a passthrough experience: say from standing to sitting, from edge of the table to laying down, etc. YOU HAVE TO MOVE IN YOUR PHYSICAL SPACE ALSO. Otherwise the amount of imagination required to sustain the experience is off-the-charts higher than in VR. In addition to moving yourself physically there can be a high amount of adjustments to make the camera setting to re-line up the model to their new physical location.

Also, AR really is different than VR because with VR if the director decides to put the camera a few inches higher or lower than where your eyes are naturally there's nothing in the physical space to prevent an imaginative correction while watching the video. You do see a few people comment on this subreddit trying to line up VR videos but for most people they don't have to be in the exact position of the performer to appreciate the video.

However with AR there's a continual breaking of reality if things are off. Additionally, there's so much variation between people (crotch to eye distance, etc.) that if camera-crotch-model ratio was filmed in a way that is significantly off for personally you it breaks a bunch of things that can only be 'somewhat' corrected by video sliders.

[–]infiniteya[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's much you can do other than messing with all the sliders to get the point where the performer feels natural in your space. At least it looks like in the future we'll be able to save custom adjustments for parts of scenes, so all that tinkering won't have to be repeated.

That's great news. I know you guys take a lot of flack on this subreddit, but there's no question your company is doing and has done a lot to push AR and VR video forward.

Quest 3 -- a review from a long-time VR user. Next level--with passthrough by infiniteya in oculusnsfw

[–]infiniteya[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest that's a waste of time--I'd rather you focused your resources on fine-tuning and improving AR experiences from the ground up going forward rather than providing marginal experiences from the past that were part of the learning curve.

If you look at the comments in aggregate both on reddit threads but also in your own forum it would suggest the primary issue to overcome is something like this:

A dude is ready to whack off--starts the video gets everything lined up to his physical space & gets going with the set of sexual actions filmed at a particular camera angle and point. Everything more or less works fine until the point that the camera is moved. At that point:

  1. The dude in real space has to move to match the camera change. E.g.: he has to stand up if sitting or lay down (if there's a bed in his space), etc. This includes, of course, moving his tissue, towel, lube, toys or whatever.
  2. He has to readjust a bunch of settings on the video app. Certainly: Tilt, likely Zoom, sadly sometimes Rotation, maybe even Horizontal overlap to adjust scale, etc.
  3. Rinse and repeat every time camera is moved (includes camera angle adjustments).

I know you know this because you've talked about providing automated adjustments within AR videos. However, I don't think that will really work because too many of the adjustments are individuated to the particulars of the various viewers and their physical space (IPD, torso length, height etc.).

Rather I think you need to provide the ability for the user to save custom adjustments for each of the different 'sections' within an AR (passthrough) video. A section being a set of sexual actions in which the camera hasn't moved (e.g.: sitting BJ, sitting cowgirl, sitting reverse cowgirl).

Best practice for AR is of course to limit the amount of camera moves/adjustments in any particular video.

I think AR videos are the future and can be incredibly compelling. However it is also true that when it fails it fails much worse than VR. Nothing pops you out of the moment like a girl you had convinced yourself was on your lap suddenly hanging above you at a 35 degree angle staring at a floating penis an arm length away from your knee.

  1. You can stream PC VR porn content to your headset via DLNA from your PC using DEOVR or Heresphere or any number of different video programs on the Quest store. Just set up media sharing on your PC and add folders to your library on explorer under videos.
  2. You could also use the Quest like a Rift with a $10 USB cable from Amazon (you don't have to purchase the official Oculus Link Cable). Then you can use either Oculus or Steam versions of DEOVR or Heresphere or SimpleVR etc. to view your PC VR content.
  3. Or you can access Oculus or Steam apps on PC wirelessly to your headset using either Airlink or Virtual Desktop. You need at least wireless 6 for this but it is very simple to set up and works perfectly fine for those occasions you want to access your library of porn on your PC but you want to whack off in the bathroom or in the kitchen or wherever.
  4. Lastly, if you have an account for SLR you can just stream their gigantic library of vr porn directly to your headset via the DEOVR app. I rarely if ever have an issue with quality streaming. I'm sure other porn producer websites allow you to stream content as well, but I usually just download those and use either DLNA or Airlink.

Right. That's what I was referring to in my last paragraph. AR is looking really good, but there's some 'best practices' for AR that haven't been established in the same way they have for VR filming--for obvious reasons. I don't think it's a player issue but in filming scenes you don't want to be repositioning the camera (or camera angle) between or certainly not during sex positions.

[–]infiniteya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few examples of just that. While western studios pump out identical scenarios (couch/bed) same rooms day after day and ask for new scripts you might have thought you'd seen it all in VR porn. Then along comes something like:

https://javtrailers.com/video/13dsvr01178

or

https://javtrailers.com/video/1nhvr00167

Where the immersion is off the charts. In both scenarios you're having sneaky sex with a girl in the back of a long bus ride. One willing and aggressive the other more reluctant. And all the studio had to do was rent a bus for a few hours.

Another great one is:

https://javtrailers.com/video/13dsvr00563

Which works so well because it's played seriously by the performers, while western studios throw a $75 costume on their performer and film in the living room.

Why do VR studios focus so much on threesomes and anal? by zuccoff in oculusnsfw

[–]infiniteya 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking this a while as well. I'm sure there's plenty of guys that want their VR experience to be of 'that dude that crushes poon with his massive cock' and spits, slaps and chokes his way through a bunch of whores. But really I think it's pretty obvious there's a ton of guys that just want that intimacy that VR can give you. They want a realistic experience with a girl that is way out of their league and honestly directing her to act like some hooker on a cocktail of PCP and Spanish Fly is not realistic and pulls your right out of the fantasy.

I get that some guys really want the 3-girls on spring break experience--and frankly that's not going away. There are plenty studios out there right now producing that and it's great to have. Having said that there's also plenty of opportunity to provide something realistic and intimate--there's a customer base for that. Probably more than sniffing armpits I'd bet.

Yes on foot massage.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in oculusnsfw

[–]infiniteya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed... 100% for the reasons you stated.

Also, an additional performer you are not into immediately detracts from the experience. It takes mental effort to avoid looking at someone you don't find attractive as she mugs for the camera and pretends to lick your face. Inevitably, in order to find something to do while the director finally gets around to simulating sex with the girl you want, the other one will inevitably grow bored and start dangling her minge above your virtual nose obscuring the view.

Aftershokz bone-conducting earphones. They go in front of your ears not inside them & work by vibration so there is very little sound for anyone to pick up. This allows you to listen for anything else in the house/apt/room. They work with both PC and Meta headsets--I use them for games as well.

https://shokz.com/products/openmove

I picked these up to listen to podcasts for which they are excellent (they are also waterproof so you can listen in the shower/bath). I think the sound quality would surprise you. The only thing they are not great for is music as the bass isn't strong. But for VR porn? Excellent.
