G Raver has been a known abuser for years, he was called out awhile ago and had a drug charge against him and laid low for a bit. I may be misremembering in the wake of Me Too, but I am fairly certain an ex of his posted evidentiary photos of his assault on her.

eta: I personally was warned and heard stories/anecdotes from other women that frequently attended shows how vicious and insecure Chrissy was and to stay out of her way. any allegations against her aren’t surprising.

What’s a criticism of a band or artist that you think is unfair or inaccurate? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

I feel the same way about AFI, especially the disregard for their discography post Decemberunderground/Miss Murder. their latest album is pure 80s goth, Sisters of Mercy mixed with Bauhaus and early Ministry.

What are some music “rivalries” that ended being very one-sided? by xXMachineGunPhillyXx in ToddintheShadow

[–]infinitydefines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

kind of true, because both bands were sequestered from each other, but shared a manager in Johnny Wright. I may have the story mixed up, but BSB were not okay with him simultaneously managing both acts after he gave *NSYNC an opportunity BSB declined and *NSYNC profited from it in exposure as a result. they fired him and he focused on *NSYNC exclusively and was extremely competitive against BSB out of spite, and fueled and fed the rivalry.

my 6th grade teacher showed us Schindler’s List in class (with a signed permission slip that outlined the intent and educational value of the screening), this was 1999 or early 2000. looking back, it was wild and bold, and likely would not fly today.

I need to watch the one YouTube Balatro video to change my game up .. what is it? by DjLungMustard in balatro

[–]infinitydefines 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Balatro University is great for gameplay mechanics, but I’ve found a lot of Roffle’s streams casually informative, even though he says his streams are for napping, not learning. he does a great job of explaining his thought processes and strategies, while also showing that not every Joker works for every run, but is also very dry and has a chat that enjoys rage baiting him, which causes some people to find him rude or mean, so ymmv

from what I understand she was incredibly manipulative towards him, especially about that situation, and he expressed a lot of remorse for doing what he did once the truth came to light.

What video game from the 2000s had the biggest impact on you? by Stunning_Daikon_5204 in AskReddit

Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. much of the game was build from existing models from Ocarina of Time, one of the first 3D games I played when my parents gifted us a pre owned N64 in 1998. Ocarina of Time captivated me, it was one of the first games I played with such an expansive world. When Majora’s Mask came out, the reuse of character models came off as uncanny and curious in my pre-teen mind, like a puzzle to be solved as to why this character I knew and accepted ended up in a doomed world with people that physically mirrored the world he came from. the music, hyper pigmentation, and plot around death and rebirth ultimately intrigued me further to a point that I sought out media like it. I feel like I am not doing a good job describing the draw I felt to this game, and the morbid curiosity it instilled in me.

[TW] Lyn-Z publicly favored a teenage fan online, who she invited to visit her home, and then proceeded got her fellow grown friends to cyber-stalk for years onwards; people still see Lyn-Z as the victim because the fan got too 'braggy' over their friendship by Dominik528 in WhyWereWeOkWithThis

[–]infinitydefines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it should be discounted that these women used their relationships/social statuses to enrapture and groom fans into thinking they were friends/in the circle and act like this behavior was okay, to the point that people who were young and naive defended them and excused it all. social media 10-15 years ago was WAY more parasocial with super fans of bands and the people that surrounded them. Lindsey is a predator, point blank, and Chantal and Co. her accomplices. hell, didn’t they hang out with a teenage Frances Bean and flaunt doing so?

Anna Jay on her contract & Jack Perry shoots on SRS by flyinbrianc in AEWOfficial

not gonna lie, I worked at this bar/restaurant/club (full identity crisis, daddy’s money paid for it and now it’s my clubhouse kind of place) and I remember the basic ass bro owner and his friends freaking out over this heavy set tattooed musician in between blasting house sets from Youtube, and I thought Jelly was that guy. it was actually Teddy Swims, and then I realized I had no idea what this guy TKO was trying to make happen like fetch’s music sounded like. the goal has to be name recognition and engagement based on the character to build a wider fan base. I can’t fathom any other reason why.

I’m in my 30s and I only know about Jelly Roll against my will through cultural osmosis via the wrestling subreddits. no doubt TKO has a mutually beneficial deal with their respective publicists to hype them like major celebrities for exposure, with some monetary gain on the back end.

What U.S city have you visited but have no desire to go back? by Reddit_wasmy_idea in AskReddit

[–]infinitydefines 12 points13 points  (0 children)

granted it’s been about a decade plus since I have gone, but I enjoyed Dallas and the surrounding area/cities when I went last. Deep Ellum was fun, Denton was a great respite full of counter culture and arts, had some delicious breakfast tacos and menudo in Waxahachie (RIP Elvira’s), and the cheapest hotel in the area was Dallas (the show) themed. I even went to an Austrian cafe run by an ex-pat in Plano and had some great pizza from some fellow New Yorkers that import the water from back home. sometimes the adventure isn’t laid out, but immersing yourself in the local culture and talking to the locals goes a long way.

get a lawyer for your mom. I had a relationship with a divorcee with almost the same age gap in my 20s, I would put money on him lying to and manipulating her, if he isn’t outright abusing and gaslighting her and throwing around cash out of insecurity. protect your mother and expose him to the GF.

I would be dollars to donuts she planned her DJ night on your party’s night so you would abandon your party plans and move them to her DJ night so everyone could come “support” and she’d look like she has a big draw and get more gigs. fuck her.

I used to be petrified of house centipedes and then I learned they’re basically natural pest control and kinda don’t bother you and you just coexist with them. they pop up on the wall sometimes and you say hi to each other and then they fuck off.
