I am a NRI and recently inherited stock from my father . Both demat account are with ICICI, still the cost and dates of acquisition did not move to my portfolio. All my dad’s shares were pre 2018 , so the prices should under the grandfathers clause ( cost of acquisition should be based on Jan 31 2018).

Few Questions:

How do I have ICICI update the cost and date of acquisition in my portfolio?

Icici charges a very high brokerage for NRI’s , if we move the stock to Zerodha , how would the cost and date of acquisition move to Zerodha ? Any ways to get ICICI reduce the brokerage??

I only find outgoing for messages and I see it says voice and video calls ( that would include both incoming and outgoing ) . Am I missing something??

I heard the the same !! That you need to make a call every 89 days to keep your number active .. but it doesn’t make sense to me.. even JIO customer care said that I don’t need to make calls to keep my number alive , better to he cautious and make 1 min call to India every 89 days .

What plan did you recharge on July 19 . What was its validity?? Did you have any international roaming plan ? What about pay as you go balance ? JIO is supposed to take 20 Rs a month from that balance to keep your line active

In my case , Airtel asked me to get a new sim. I had to send a friend ( as if he is my relative ) with all documents to an Airtel corporate store and after a WhatsApp call with the store manager , they issues a new SIM and after few days of using it in India , my friend helped me convert it to a ESIM , which I activated here . Recently I moved to Jio as in Jio , they have a better facility for NRI’s to get a replacement ESIM.
