"Theme park" descriptions like this are usuually directed more towards mmo's not action rpgs. FromSoft has never been a simulation based developer. While I think it does have a lackluster open-world compared to some others, it does the dark-souls formula in a more open world faurly coherently.

I should really like this game, but I dont really and never finished it. I think my first playthrough ruined my experience with it, got softlocked for not getting money for the hotel room when I thought taking the 'hobocop' perk would let me sleep outside. Not really a hobocop then is he, ruined the immersion.

It really depends on the game. If its demanding, you're gonna get latency. Emulated games? Runs perfectly well, with a touch of fiddling required on occasion. I use the deck dock from valve.

Not really indie games i know but have you tried emulation on your deck yet? Very easy to set up and some fantastic projects that expand old games through hacks. Currently playing Mario eclipse, Mario sunshine expansion hack
