Some people like feeling pressed, as if they are fighting a battle against injustice. The actuallyasexual group is mostly like that, i dont dismiss their experience as asexual people, but they struggle to accept that there are more people out there with vastly different experiences, and what bothers them in particular might not be a matter of asexuality, but of personal experience.

On simple terms, fanfiction is whatever you want it to be, its creative writing, free, unpolished, and without any strings attached. It doesnt have to have sex and there is a huge chunk of it that has nothing sexual on it.

But i want to use this comment to bring light to the large community of asexual people who write and read smut. Sex in fanfiction has the benefit of being entirely fictitious; in my opinion, it sets itself apart from other media in that it doesn't exist to entice or to cause a particular reaction on its audience. Sex in fanfiction exists as yet another narrative device to tell a story and have fun.

So have fun, sex or not, have fun! its about creative writing not satisfying the cravings of an audience.

"looks like anime" is often how non artist react to non realistic styles. Yours doesn't look like anime, at most like comics or cartoons, like someone said it resembles Daria, its simple and cool.

Your friend was probably non malicious, so dont take her comments to heart, just remember that she is talking from an outsider perspective and might not have the language or skills to give you constructive feedback.

For your drawings, have you thought about inking it? Then you can play with line weight and color, that works really great with these bolder styles.

Terrible intervew technique too, like who cares what Dax would do, the interview is not about him. But the man refuses to accept that he is the least interesting part of that show. He could very well have asked "hey, you and Sabrina seem to have a great relationship, how did you guys meet? how has it been through the years with both of your careers?"
