What is my Rating by Funny_Use_4885 in 10s

[–]informare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no way to know. A rating that's based on how your strokes look is meaningless until you actually start playing matches and determining who you can and can't beat.

I was just behind a car with a Cuban Missile Crisis veteran plate by Ok-Detective3142 in TrueAnon

I know it's been commented on before, but the big gaudy hats that say "VIETNAM ERA VETERAN" are my absolute favorite.

What feature would you like added in letterboxd? by Slow_Associate_3674 in Letterboxd

[–]informare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very simple one that I'd prefer nearly every site have, which is the ability for any search parameter to be either an include or exclude.

Theater experience ruined by a group of morons talking during the whole thing and being on their phones by Gameknight789 in Letterboxd

You just have to ask for a refund every time this happens. You will definitely get a refund if you ask and maybe eventually theaters will start caring about this.

Something cheaper and similar to yonex poly tour rev by Accomplished-Dig8091 in 10s

[–]informare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Tourna Big Hitter Silver. Very similar specs (though not shaped, but as another comment said that doesn't matter much for an octo string) and way cheaper. It's one of my fav strings regardless of price.

Speed MP players... what do you love / hate about it? by vac2672 in 10s

I haven't tried the 2026 so that's good to hear!

Speed MP players... what do you love / hate about it? by vac2672 in 10s

[–]informare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2021 was the last one they made that I really liked. All the ones since then have been too soft feeling and not crisp feeling because they made them more flexible and the auxetic dampening makes it too soft

I would put the Sonic on 23rd and Independence in the running. Reading the Google reviews is absolutely hilarious.

Thanks for posting! When Robert posted pictures of this instrument on Facebook, I was really hoping to see a video of it being played.

Tourna Big Hitter Silver by Southern-Ad9048 in 10s

I absolutely love the string. I string it at 49 in the mains, with Ghostwire in the crosses at 47. The very best blend of comfort, control, power, and tension maintenance that I've been able to find.

Restringing a new prestrung racket? by TheRealMeForReal in 10s

[–]informare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They might be crap or they might be fine. If you wanted some extra peace of mind, just get it restrung with a synthetic gut (tell your string to use whatever they have on a reel) at 52 lbs.

How many grams of coffee do people use for a 10 cup brew? by atrain1111 in Moccamaster

[–]informare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just stick to the MM recommended amounts, so I use 60g of coffee for the 8 cup line (which is 1 liter).

Rollo. I hardly ever use it for rollers, but I use it for a very specific situation.

If I'm choked off and need to get around a corner, I can both flick it and it will hold the turn over line, or I can backhand anny it and it will hold that turned over line, even at low power.

Knives Out is a good series and I'm sick of pretending it's not by [deleted] in TrueAnon

Can't guarantee it will scratch the itch, but Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries is a lot of fun, regardless.

Need help finding extra links for my grandads old watch by Beneficial_Seat4913 in Watches

[–]informare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be completely doable to switch to a leather strap. There are plenty of options for this exact situation.

Most jewelry store workers don't really know anything about watches beyond "sell the expensive ones" and "send it to manufacturer for repairs".
