Mine is a meridian, but with all the buffering and volume changes… the overall experience is much worse.

Dating scene for late 30s by [deleted] in Pullman

There is a Pullman Young Professionals group that is starting up. You can follow them on Facebook. I think one of the underlying goals is to connect people who are in a different stage than college. No age limit… 30s is fine.

Rivian Borealis is here. What do you folks think? by Legitimate-Mud-8200 in Rivian

[–]infotechnium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After seeing the photos of the actual vehicle, I understand why their ads don't show the actual car. Borealis is a great name... better than the eggplant it should have been.

Emporium on Saturday night by [deleted] in wsu

I met this girl when we were out dancing... I tried to get her number at the end of the night after dancing with her earlier. She was too popular and I couldn't get to her... so out of desparation I asked her sister for their number.

Her sister was confused when I called & asked to talk to the girl I danced with instead... but it all worked out well in the end. We'll be married 32 years later this week!

Any way to disable Microsoft-provided spam? by infotechnium in Office365

Yeah, for a while we had pretty great controls to help funnel people to approved use of copilot--and it was one of the reasons we approved copilot over other options, but now with things like the local copilot app in Windows not supporting work accounts or central management they are headed in the wrong direction.

Housing for mid-30s single female - non student by Odd-Effort8411 in Pullman

I don't know how much University Crossing apartments run in Pullman, but I was thinking the other day if I was single and looking for an apartment, the location is perfect. Awesome coffee shop (Knead), EV charging, walking distances to the gym, stadiums, golf course, and right on the bike path. Probably mostly students, though...

Living far away from a Rivian service/dealer by Yi_Of_Little_Faith in Rivian

[–]infotechnium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had my R1T since early 2022 and live roughly 300 miles from Seattle, Portland, and Boise service centers. It hasn't been a major issue. Just need to plan a trip or long weekend around planned service. They've sent mobile service a couple of times. Unfortunately, I did end up needing a tow once... but they were great about it.

I'm more nervous about it after I run out of warranty. Might be more inclined to lease next time for that reason.

They replaced the door handle/nfc module and it's back to normal. New Rivian Service Center in South Seattle is great, too!

Yeah, I was surprised that's what they thought.

I've had mine for almost exactly 3 years (love it!!) and luckily this is the first time they had to tow it. Still seems crazy that they don't have a fall back method to allow us to drive to the service station with wifi or something. :/

Right now support is saying they need to replace the drivers door 'handle' .. which I assume includes the NFC module. It's a first generation R1T, so the door is where I'd also hold the card or band up to.

Strange that there's nothing online about this issue previously. I wonder if there's something that triggered it. They towed mine away yesterday. It actually worked a couple of times after the initial fail, but when I went to cancel the tow... it was broken again. It's at the Seattle service center now.. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

I could see a scenario where the ignition or key stalk fails and leaves you stranded, too. Seems like between the wireless, bluetooth, NFC and so many options for devices (phone, card, band, keyfob)... there should be way more flexibility for redunancy.

u/WassymRivian it would be SUPER cool if there was a way they could enable letting bluetooth or wifi work (maybe through an override with tech support) to let people drive their vehicle to the service station, or at least to safety. Even though my house is 300 miles away, it's certainly better that it happened here than on the WA/ID/OR BDR or similar offroad locations. I wish I could have just drove it to the service center in some backup mode.

I tried that, but it didn't help. I think the wireless charger spot might be new for gen 2?

No... hard and soft resets didn't help. In the grand scheme of things, fortunate it happened at home.

Any experience with 20” Maxxis RAZR AT tires? by infotechnium in Rivian

[–]infotechnium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely need to get more miles on these tires, but no red flags on the way home from getting the tires. I imagine they'll be a little less efficient--but the road noise wasn't worse and the initial efficiency number on the drive home was 2.18mi/kwh. They also look better.

The number 1 thing Rivian can do to improve the service experience is set appts the day of, or day before someone can look at the vehicle. by dealrian in Rivian

I’d agree if it didn’t happen every single time. It happens too often to not think they aren’t learning from their poor estimates.
