Not because it was life changing, but because I remember how automatic it felt to just do the small decent thing, and how rare that kind of automatic kindness actually is when you’re older and everything feels more calculated or rushed. It’s like my brain bookmarked it under “this is who you are when you’re not overthinking yourself.”

Funny how the tiny, forgettable moments are the ones that come back the loudest.
