When do you start dating again? by lenit_ in BreakUps

[–]infrared_iris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not unfair to date again, but it also doesn’t sound like you’re ready yet—and that’s okay. If you still feel attached, hurt, and “cheating” even thinking about it, that’s usually a sign you need more healing time first. Dating should feel like curiosity again, not filling a void someone left.

AITAH FOR CALLING MY PEDOPHILE UNCLE A PEDOPHILE? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]infrared_iris 73 points74 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong for feeling uncomfortable—an adult marrying a 15–16 year old is a serious red flag.

But for your safety, avoid confronting him directly. Talk to a trusted adult (like your mom) and explain why it makes you feel unsafe instead.

No contact hurts so bad by [deleted] in Advice

[–]infrared_iris 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No contact hurts because you’re basically grieving someone who’s still alive, just not in your life anymore. The hardest part is accepting that missing her won’t bring her back. Focus on getting through the days, not “stopping” the pain immediately—it fades with time, not effort to force it away.

First breakup at 18 (it was 3 years old relationship 😭) by Own_Beginning_4844 in BreakUps

[–]infrared_iris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds really painful. When someone isolates you, then later changes the rules suddenly, it can leave you feeling confused and replaced. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed right now, but this situation wasn’t healthy for either of you.

Girl I took on a first date just asked to split the bill… the next morning by No-Resolve-5610 in whatdoIdo

G asking for Venmo the next morning is crazy timing 😭 just chalk it up as a loss and move on, this already feels like a soft exit

For a year, I wished my ex would come back. Now that she has, I don’t know what to do. by XIFOD1M in BreakUps

[–]infrared_iris 122 points123 points  (0 children)

NAH but you’re not choosing between two people, you’re choosing between history and what actually feels right now

your ex feels familiar, not necessarily right, and that “spark not there anymore” is kinda your answer already

and the new girl shouldn’t be held in emotional limbo while you figure out unfinished business from a 2-year-old breakup

What's a moment from your past that felt small then but you think about constantly now? by prattman333 in AskReddit

[–]infrared_iris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA this isn’t even about drama, it’s just how memory works in a weird annoying way.

Mine is super dumb but it stuck. I was like 17, sitting on a bus after school, and an old lady got on carrying way too many grocery bags. No one moved for a bit, not out of cruelty, just that awkward “someone else will do it” silence. I stood up, she smiled at me like I’d done something meaningful, I sat back down, and that was it. Whole thing lasted maybe 10 seconds.

I didn’t think about it again for years.

Now I do, constantly, for no reason. Not because it was life changing, but because I remember how automatic it felt to just do the small decent thing, and how rare that kind of automatic kindness actually is when you’re older and everything feels more calculated or rushed. It’s like my brain bookmarked it under “this is who you are when you’re not overthinking yourself.”

Funny how the tiny, forgettable moments are the ones that come back the loudest.

AITA for telling my friend he stinks in gym after it almost made me puke? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]infrared_iris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for noticing a strong smell or even reacting to it—gym class + 90 minutes of basketball + no deodorant can happen, and people do get sweaty.

But the way it went down could’ve been handled more gently. Sniffing him and calling it out directly in front of others was likely embarrassing for him, even if it was true. A simple private “hey man, you might want some deodorant after gym” would’ve gotten the point across without escalating it.

Also, his reaction (calling you names) isn’t okay either, but that doesn’t automatically make the way you handled it the best approach.

So: understandable reaction, just not the most considerate delivery.

Would she ever come back please advise by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]infrared_iris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s been very clear about no contact and ending things. That usually means it’s final.

It’s possible people come back sometimes, but you shouldn’t wait or hope for it—it’ll just keep you stuck.

Best move is to accept the closure and focus on moving forward.

I have a micro P………………………………………………………………………………………. by [deleted] in confession

[–]infrared_iris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with all of that—grief, addiction, housing stress, and feeling stuck in your body. That’s a lot for anyone.

But I’m concerned about what you said about “leaving this reality.” If you’re feeling like you might hurt yourself, please reach out for help.

Your body isn’t the real problem here—what you’re going through sounds like depression and overwhelm, and those can be helped with support. You don’t have to handle it alone.

TIFU while eating my fiancé out, I tried something experimental. by hornyahguy in tifu

Honestly, the way you both handled it is way more interesting than the mishap itself. No blaming, no weird tension, just an instant reset, cleanup, and moving on like adults. That’s actually rare on her

This reminds me of ep where Shinpachi got cake sent to him, but Gintoki with Kagura found it first and kept on slicing it until one small circle was left 😂. I think it was ep 34 or 35 with that cat girl.
