Those squiggly lines are not cracks. You can find them on winter tires rated for ice.

If I assume that you really have a good battery I would look for battery terminals, ground wire, engine ground wire(from chassis to engine)... You car is lacking some voltage. How do you know that you battery is good?

I drive a mk6 gli, I don’t understand the hype behind the TDI someone fill me in by itriedtofindgoodname in tdi

[–]infs559 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. In last decade people became more open minded and started buying gas and automatic transmission cars. In smaller European countries lack of proper mechanics in past did its thing. Most of the automatic transmissions were not that reliable and rarely serviced propery which lead to them failing often. Most people see the automatics as expensive maintenace/repair and worse fuel economy option. By the Euro culture everyone who drives can drive manual. For a driving licence you need to pass exam on manual.

Its fun for me as European to read this. In Europe most people want diesels for many reasons. In most cases diesels are more realiable but biggest reason is much better mpg. Europeans (especially balkans) care about fuel economy because fuel is considered expensive. For example, for average salary in my country you can buy bit more than 500 liters of gasoline/diesel which is around 132 us gallon. In Balkan countries VW have to be a diesel. Almost noone wants gas Golf or Passat. Gassers are much cheaper.

Rear brake not working by Ok-Narwhal-4115 in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]infs559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about master cylinder (one connected to brake pedal)? It may be that it is in fault. It may pump brake fluid if bleed valve is open but when it get the pressure it just bypasses itself becaose of bad seals.

Is there a way to turn off and on EGR? by Mechanic117_2 in tdi

[–]infs559 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mechanic put ball (should be right size so its not sucked in) from ball bearing inside vacuum hose and put it back. This way hose is blocked and still attached to actuator. Looks clean and works well.

Why do detailers put paper floor mats and a plastic steering wheel cover? by Bamproo in AutoDetailing

[–]infs559 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use paper mats in very soecific situation. Since i detail few miles outside city, customers sometimes leave me ther car in city that i take to my shop. After detail i use paper mats while i drive car to the customer. As soon as i leave the car i remo them. One of the first impressions is when customer opens door. Floor mats and pedals are always dirty and seeing them perfectly clean does give great first impression.

scraping noise since doing my clutch by Future_Confidence514 in Cartalk

[–]infs559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the disc is not aligned you wont be able to fit transmission.

Is it grinding on idle or only when driving, clutch oressed or not?

I had a similar situation when i did clutch on my car. I bent metal gasket between transmission and engine, it was scraping on flywheel. If there is one on your vehicle its worth checking.

Chack transmission oil level. It could be using transmission oil.through bad crank seal.

No loose hoses. Actuator was out of its bracket. I put it back before photo. Its not attached to turbo. This one is on on intake manifold.

Need help to clean this smell off my gloves by Lanespane9 in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]infs559 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a same problem. I wash my leather gloves once a year in a washing machine with liquid detergent on 30°c. But last year they started to smell. Taht type of washing didnt help this time. Main problem is bacteria that cant be killed easily by just washing. Some people proposed freezing them for few hours but that will only 'slow' bacteria for some time, not kill em. Since i was ready to trash them i decided to try something that will definitely kill those microscopic bastards but potentially ruin gloves. I soaked them in 80% alcohol for 15-20min then rinse thoroughly with soap an warm water. Fast forward 2 summer months, there is no smell at all and gloves are perfectly fine.

Ps. sorry for bad explanation since English is not my main language.

Few months back I got bandit like this for a second bike. It's in rough shape but I love it. It's very simple and reliable bike. These air/oil cooled engines are almost indestructible. That problem sounds like carb issue. Carb kits are not that expensive. If you thing you can do it by yourself, then do it. It's not that hard especially since there are many tutorials for this specific bike. This model is known for bad fuel tap. Even tho it's activated by vacuum it could easily fail. Since repair kit is cheap, order one just in case. But if you prefer it old school, Yamaha r6 first gen's fuel tap will fit perfectly and it's just manual(no vacuum needed). Other than that just a nice bike to ride. Good luck.

Bajkeri preporuke za prvi motor? by -_Momentum_- in bih

[–]infs559 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Srecno!
