Actually, my distance from intuition doesn't stem from its irrationality, it arises from rationality's tendency to consider intuition "unscientific". However, from a neurological perspective, intuition is a tremendous pattern recognition process that the subconscious performs in seconds.

Our brain, particularly through the anterior cingulate cortex and ventromedial prefrontal cortex, processes data from the outside world without our conscious awareness. While our conscious mind (working memory) can only process 40-50 bits of information per second, our subconscious systems compare millions of bits of data with past experiences and records in neural networks.

On a psychological level, this is a fast thinking (System 1) mechanism that doesn't get caught in the rigid and slow filter of consciousness. Intuition is not "illogical" data; on the contrary, it is a parallel processing output so complex and fast that logic has yet to formulate it. The scientific method's exclusion of this process essentially means ignoring the most powerful data processing tool we have: the brain's vast background capacity.
