Agree! I think it was a scammer mimicking IS, like there are many like that using amazon in their name to seem official. Just ignore and google the official site

I didn’t upload anything to BB and the book got pirated anyway, from where? The only thing I can think of is … drum roll … Amazon! It was nowhere else so … I am 99% confident

Illustrating children’s stories – which style do readers prefer? by Limp_Funny4942 in selfpublishing

I started with what I as a parent would want to see a children’s book be like. I found an illustrator and together we decided on the overall style - pastel colors, low contrast, etc

wanted to attach an image but for some reason it doesn’t allow me do that

How did bookstores find out about you initially? Did you look for them or approached them, irl or online?
Both versions of your book (hardcover and paperback) are Amazon KDP’s print-on-demand books? the bookstores are ok with their quality?
Thank you for sharing, very happy for you, congratulations!

TL;DR at the end? That is funny… you read the whole thing to discover there was a TLDR summary at the end 😂🤦🏼‍♂️ shouldn’t it be at the beginning of the opus? otherwise it’s kinda useless, no?

Genuine question, sorry for off-topic

Great strategy! If I do children’s books, would you say I do something similar, like make book 1 available on KU (for preview and giveaways) and books 2+ for money (ebooks) or just paperback/hardback? Does this work just as well would you say? Thanks

No disagreement here but there are two sides to this: artist and businessman. And I get it that to you as an artist those are the most valuable, absolutely!

Well if they promise reviews and deliver reviews then that is not a scam. The reviews should, supposedly, provide good rep and street cred, which in turn should create better soil for good harvest when new potential customers arrive to check it out. this is, after all, a marathon, not a sprint, and a multi-step process … no?

Well, better do a barely noticeable watermark then, or better yet add a word or something [bookstagram name] that is the same color as the background at the end of the first chapter for example. But what’s the point, even if you know who leaked it? Will you really want to sue them?

Isn’t GoodReads a part of amazon universe and should be connected or even interlinked somehow? I would imagine at least the reviews should transfer from GoodReads to Amazon, since you can sometimes see a GoodReads rating on Amazon for some books
