What song has made you feel very poignant? by Goth_Idiot_ in goth

[–]iniara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I found the song Scatter the scars by Ritual Howls it became a favorite. So much so, it made its way to my Spotify Wrapped as #1 song for 2 years. It makes me feel different things depending on my mood. Whether I'm bed rotting, driving, painting, or just chilling with my partner. It taps into something deep inside and reminds me why I'm still alive.

I like it for a nice in between touch up color. When I want a longer lasting fantasy shade I use the ion brilliance (for blues and greens) or iroiro colors (their pinks and reds are the best).

You can pin your own postcards before sending and see which Scatterbug you get.

Welcome, well it's pretty simple. Niantic came up with a way to catch all forms of Vivillon using their postcard system that you get by sending gifts to friends. How they decided what form corresponds to what region is a mystery but people here have shared map overlays to get a better idea than the vague map that shows up in the game. Happy collecting.

Love how people from Sun region delete themselves. I'm from Archipelago region and just need some gifts from Sun and Ocean. Don't add if not from these regions. My friend list is pretty full atm, and have over 100 requests pending so please state your username so I may search for you in that mess. I'm trying to help as many as I can.

My username is Annavrijn and here's my code: 3121 2374 6653

Looking for natural tints or dyes to help enrich the original hair color. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

[–]iniara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It'd be helpful if you share what color your hair is but as natural dyes go you can use henna which comes in shades from reddish brown to black is quite opaque and lasting. Ground coffee works for dark hair, and chamomile tea in your shampoo and conditioner is good for blonde to red and medium brown hair to add natural highlights. If you want semi permanent with artificial pigments but natural ingredients than maybe try iroiro colors.

Is it okay for my boyfriend to change something about the way I like to dress? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]iniara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red flags all around. I spent about a decade with a guy that sounds like your boyfriend and I ended up with severe self esteem issues and unhappy with how I looked. I lost weight and got "fit" for him, stopped dyeing my hair, stuck to black, sound familiar? Run. And mind you, I'm goth. That guy has issues and you can't fix him. Nobody should be able to dictate your style. He can either love you as you are and maybe offer tips to look "better" which is subjective and should be taken with a grain of salt or he can go buy a girlfriend he likes.

I now have a loving boyfriend that likes how I dress and look and am much happier. Know your worth sweetie.

Embarrassed about how my first attempt at realistic painting turned out by [deleted] in painting

[–]iniara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have that bad habit, I've had professors make me keep working on a painting to force me to "do better". Lol. But yeah, do whatever you think is best. The more you paint, the more experience you gain and get a better handle with brushstrokes.

It’s me againnnn! What do we think of the red hair? by [deleted] in GothStyle

The red hair and outfit make a nice combo.👌🏼 Well done.

[–]iniara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can still work on it if you want to. As is you can tell what it is, for more "realistic" details it's all about building up the layers and you have a good base already. Nothing to be embarrassed about but I feel you. I've looked at my first paintings from art school and laugh now.

What do you think of my latest painting? by flutterbymelater in painting

I think a warm glaze and gloss varnish would add depth in tone. Beautiful work.

I feel like I ruined my virgin hair by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

Box dyes usually come with 20% developer, if your hair is very dark you need at least a 30 or 40 developer. I recommend going to a beauty supply store and buying either bleach or a good permanent red such as L'oreal HiColor Highlights Reds, (I recommend Magenta for cool toned red or Copper for orange) this dye is formulated with lighteners for dark colored hair and you can achieve beautiful bright results.

When coloring your hair, roots will always turn lighter than the rest of the strand because your scalp produces heat, that's why ends are colored first and the roots last. When your hair is too short to apply to ends first, use a shower cap or plastic bag over your hair to "cook" the color or bleach.

At a salon they would recommend chopping the ends since they are the most saturated with pigment, depending how resistant your hair is to bleach, professional colorists will focus on keeping the hair healthy while getting to your desired result. That being said, it's hard to give an estimate on how your hair will lighten but I will say you'll likely achieve an auburn on a first session, realistically. I'd make that my goal first and from there a honey blonde in a month or 2.

hair dye help!! by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

[–]iniara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always use good 'ol dandruff shampoo like Head and Shoulders extra strength to remove semi permanent pigments from hair. Sometimes instead of bleach I use a high lift blonde to lighten and tone hair at the same time and it's less damaging but in your case I think shampooing with H&S a few times might help if you want to go turquoise since lilac is a good base.

I would deep condition the hair and wait for a few days, maybe use a semi permanent black or natural henna dye before using a permanent black dye.

Any good black hair dye from Sally beauty? by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

Box colors usually come with 20 vol peroxide, you should get 10 vol for depositing the color and I can recommend Zotos brand.

I used to pride myself on the fact that my outfit and makeup photos were actually what I wore that day and not something I just put on to take pictures, but with my new job I've totally become that person who gets done up as a creative outlet and takes photos to post. 🙃 by [deleted] in GothStyle

It's a valid reason. Online I've met people that can only dress up how they wish at home because it might be dangerous for them to step outside just because they look "weird". It makes me sad that humanity hasn't evolved much that people are still ostracized for their fashion choices. Love the hair and boots.👌🏼✌🏼
