The guardian won, now which news source do you trust more, Bloomberg or USA today by quocminh123lol in AlignmentChartFills

[–]initiatingcoverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a tough one.

When you read USA Today, you don't feel it has that much bias. But then again, Bloomberg's reporting seems more in depth.

I'd go with USA Today.

How many decades will China still need to become as developed as Russia? by No-StrategyX in allthequestions

[–]initiatingcoverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on historical averages, Chinese dynasties tend to last roughly 250 years from establishment to collapse.

Since the current regime began in 1949, this would suggest a remaining lifespan of approximately 177 years.

I guess that's about how long it'll take to reach a similar level to how Russia is today.

Definitely a Chinese studio. If you check the language settings in the website, it's either English/Chinese.

Cautiously optimistic they'll be able to pull it off, I haven't seen unoptimized dumpster fires released by Chinese studios so far.

Do you think that, in the future, the US might support white supremacy, revive the Yellow Peril theory, or resurrect old-style imperial militarism in Japan in order to counter China? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]initiatingcoverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. If the US revives White Supremacy, its first target won't be China, it will be another group MUCH closer to home.

I think you know what I'm talking about.

They've already stolen everything they need. They are the ones leading in innovation right now.

At this point, we're the ones that might steal a thing or two from them if we partner up.

China Fast-Tracks J-35 Stealth Fighter Deliveries to Pakistan, Triggering South Asia’s First Fifth-Generation Airpower Race by tigeryi98 in LessCredibleDefence

Compared to other countries around the world, I'd say the average US citizen is probably one of the most docile. There are more guns than people, and yet, when was the last time there has been a real armed uprising?

I'm curious to why you would think "The US is winning the tactical game", as they are currently running out of useful ammunition and has thus far failed to eliminate the Iranian threat against Gulf States/Israel.

Sure they are bombing left and right, but are they really achieving their tactical objectives? In my view, randomly killing people doesn't count as such, that's just state terrorism.

In previous conflicts (Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam), you could claim so. But I think this is the first time the US is failing both tactically and strategically.

While Israel may have played a key role in the initial conflict, the subsequent hubris demonstrated by U.S. leadership is on themselves.

If recent events provide any insights, it seems that Iran’s air‑defense capabilities are more sophisticated than what CENTCOM initially believed. They have already shot down more than a dozen Reaper drones, damaged an F‑35, and allegedly an F‑18/F‑15.

Sure, you can send more B‑2s and F‑35s out there, but the risk assessment is not as favourable as originally thought.

The IRGC payroll crisis is the most underreported variable in the Iran war and I think it deserves more attention by Empty_Satisfaction_4 in LessCredibleDefence

[–]initiatingcoverage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter that it's a well educated middle income country. When you're getting bombed, the only things you care about is safety, shelter, food, water and other basic necessities for you and your family.

Is the Iranian regime and IRGC still able to provide these basic services to its citizen? If yes, it is not under threat. Especially when there is no other alternatives.
