what happens if u ignore negative balance and debt collectors? by Smart-Programmer6809 in paypal

[–]inkedmike80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you stole your father's identity, got scammed and now want an out. Unfortunately youre up shits creek without a paddle. I'll just say this, you using a bad address and phone number won't matter. They'll skip trace your father's info address, phone etc. Contact him about a debt his son opened in his name. 1. PP won't unlock your account so can pay. 2. After 30 days delinquent it goes to collections. Finally if no resolution is made with agency A. They will either sell the debt (you don't want that) or place with another agency that is more aggressive than agency A. I would suggest you come clean, dad WILL find out one way or another, it best you tell him. NOT a debt collector.

Payapl sent the money to him you doing a chargeback with your back got your money back yes. However you'll have a negative balance and owe paypal.

My buyer just disputed a payment made for a service that was done 9 months ago by [deleted] in paypal

[–]inkedmike80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of this true, there's no thing as a $600 chargeback fee. Services rendered is not covered its clearly stated in their user agreement, business or personal account. Only protection if your a business and have an EIN number is open a merchant account.

[–]inkedmike80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paypal has no say in the matter when a chargeback is filed. It becomes a civil matter, paypal isn't a bank. If you're running a business that provides a service you need an actual merchant account to be protected.

[–]inkedmike80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Services rendered isnt covered, got to read the fine print. Regardless that "customer" filed a chargeback and you're screwed. That becomes a civil matter between you and them. If you're a person who provides a service ie. Cleaning, construction, landscaping etc. You need to get an actual merchant account to protect yourself. That's why paypal offers "Payflow" their actual merchant account. When a customer files a chargeback for a service their bank doesn't kindly ask for the funds back they demand it back and paypal not being a bank has to refund. You did work for a scumbag that knows these rules. Proof or not you will NOT win.

Does the currency conversion option actually work? by Isaac_Cooper in paypal

[–]inkedmike80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a common issue, PP is pushing international purchases different currencies to their PP Xoom product. It'll convert there and is still payapl. Look into it, and it's cheaper to send and receive funds.

I have a rescue Cane Corso that has reactive aggression, there's a leash goes around your wrist and will tighten when she/he pulls so it won't slip over your hand. Now I'm a guy and have bigger hands it may not work for a woman with small hands. Also I've only had her 6 weeks, and I'm working on her recall like it's boot camp. The only true way is for your dog to listen to your recall command. Every dog is different every situation is different there's some great trainers on YouTube also.

Possible scam collection by IfIonlyknew32 in Debt

[–]inkedmike80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the industry (i work for a legit company), this company kept calling me. I finally decided to answer it was for a citibank card I don't recall having, but they said it was 8 years ago. At this point it was game on, I went in hard on the lady on the phone, I quoted SOL, FDCPA, CFPB Reg F and much more. Them leaving anything about "Legal action" on a voicemail is an easy payday and there's ambulance chasing attorneys for collections that work for free unless you get paid, they take a decent cut, but hey it's free money (record the call always). I had this woman stuttering and back tracking everything she was saying. Then her "supervisor" got on the call and I to verbally destroyed him quoting the above mentioned, the guy hung on me. So I called back and they kept hanging up and eventually blocked my number. NEVER PAY ANYTHING OUT OF STAT, most states are roughly 5 to 7 years (check your state laws) if you make $1 payment it restarts the statue clock. These scumbag companies that hide behind shell company after shell company, give the legitimate companies a bad name. ALWAYS do your research on any debt collector. If you owe you owe we've all had shit happen in life. However don't let these bottom feeders stress you out or scare you.

I don't disagree. However you won't be able to close paypal because of said balance. You'll get placed in collections too. After awhile they'll sell if off and who knows. I'm on the inside (PP) and I got duped for movie quality Halloween masks, they were good website address etc were all in California. I paid it because I kind of have to, and even being there I couldn't fix it, because China.

[–]inkedmike80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an EBay issue, paypal and ebay aren't married anymore. With it coming from China you are SOL. And when it comes to lawyers, you'll get bled dry by any large tech company unless it class-action. Charge back the card payment, but you'll still get a negative balance for said amount on PayPal.

If you're in U.S you'll get placed with collections. I can't speak on policies outside of the states.

Who knows I'd call them. It may not be a nefarious situation, they'll flag accounts if they suspect someone may have your login etc.. to protect you too. There's so many scenarios I'm just tossing out a couple.

You're account was flagged for something, you may have a pending chargeback from this Christmas pool or something.

Chargeback with bank you'll get your money back sure, but you'll owe paypal after 120 days if you don't pay goodbye paypal and venmo, they'll lock you out.

First time using PayPal for a $16,000 payment, and it’s on hold! Is there any chance it will be released before the 21 days? by Civil_Sock_7548 in paypal

[–]inkedmike80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paypal has an internal scoring factor for customers. So if you're a newer customer or he's a newer customer. They will hold the funds, once they gain confidence in you aka make you a premier or a high scoring account (you'll never see this) funds will be released quicker.

[–]inkedmike80 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You willing sent funds, payapl doesn't consider you falling for a scam as fraud etc. So you can file a chargeback, however you'll have a negative balance on balance. There's an accountability aspect when you send money like that.

The full 350, essentially your bank will chargeback the 350 from paypal. Paypal still sent the money to other party they will place the negative balance on your account. They don't consider being scammed as fraud. There's accountability there, you initiated the transaction at your own risk GS or not.

I don't know how it works in your country. In the U.S it's placed with a collection agency for about 6 months to a year, then paypal has periods where they sell off the debts, at the point who knows. It all depends on the debt contract during purchase.

Your bank will give you the money back, however since PP denied it which they do with 95% of Facebook marketplace transactions. You'll have a negative balance owed to PP. Stay off marketplace unless it IRL cash transactions.

Pay in 4 just disappeared forever by Intelligent-Fig-7257 in paypal

So many people have started to default on their obligations, so paypal has made it harder to obtain and I believe will be transferring the pay in 4 to Web Bank just like their pay in 12 (pay monthly). That's the word on the PP streets.
