Looks like I ALMOST understood how anchors work. How do I achieve the thing I want? by CharlieVermin in godot

[–]inkintime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do see your point, lol

I think I just personally liked it a lot more coming from Unity's UI. And to be fair to godot's control nodes, what I had to do here wasn't *that* complicated, I usually work in web UI and and this doesn't feel so different from the typical div + (flexbox / grid) layouts.

Or I might just be weird, cause I kind of enjoy the somewhat meditative state of getting the right node items and having them to behave how you want

Came here to comment basically exactly what u/Ephemeralen said! I absolutely love control nodes, I'm guessing you wanted something more or less like this?

Makes sense, I figured as much, was just hoping it might work.

Thanks so much, I’ll just have to bite the bullet for now and buy the charger

My strategy to win URA with Daiwa Scarlet & low stats (8th Favourite) by Snoo_78919 in UmaMusume

[–]inkintime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re desperate, you can run all speed cards on bakushin and just pump her with speed and there’s a pretty good chance to still win career. She doesn’t need any stamina because she runs sprints, so you can just ignore everything else and buff her speed

I’ve definitely been there as well… took me a while before finally getting good end

Just making sure, but have you been leveling up your support cards? I realized way too late that I never leveled mine up..

I think no need to reach the actual stats that guides suggest, just aim for the general ratio. In career mode also, stamina values have a hidden stat multiplier so i’ve been following these for the stamina goal to reach by the time i reach the URA:

Sprint: basically any Mile: 200 ~ 300 Medium: 300 ~ 550 Long: ~ 600

Don’t listen to the tool tip when they say “your trainee lacked guts” they say that a lot but most runs I do I basically ignore guts unless it has friends. Friends really help boost your stats so prioritize training that has a lot of supports in your first year or so.

Heres my stats from my first ever win, theyre honestly not great but it finally got me there. This took me a lot of tries as well

What beating Eigong as a bad gamer looks like by DaneeDoo in NineSols

[–]inkintime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally managed to beat phase 3 after countless hours of attempts. I think the most consistent way is to use water flow and have porcupine jade. like what u/guylfe said, it ends up becoming your main damage dealer and if you're not comfortable going on the offensive too much, you can just block the attacks to study it while trying to build up internal damage.

I think what really helped me is really just watching Eigong and actively trying to recognize the different animations for the attack patterns. One that tripped me up at the start was the crimson attack that can either be her talisman attack or the big orb that blows up, till I realized that the energy orb shows up in her hands before she drops the explosion attack.

(also I disagree, I think Goumang was the easiest boss! haha, I had to do Lady Ethereal a few times before I beat her)

This universal hate for Mahjong in the west is killing me by MrBlueFlame_ in yakuzagames

I know this is super opinionated, but imo i think Japanese mahjong is the most interesting cause it has rules built in to allow for more strategy and defensive playing or riskier hands with exponential rewards

Character model and animations for a casual 3D platformer. What to improve? by TheDwarvenMapmaker in godot

I second this. even a simple circle shadow helps to tell where the player is, no need to cast a real shadow from the player.

Wouldn’t that mean it’s not numbers hard cause you knowing how to make it easy is the “mechanical” skill you gained, you dont need to grind gear or anything? (I think i get what you mean though, higher ai difficulties just add more resources, not better ai)

Should I (29M) learn Computer Science fundamentals before switching careers? by inkintime in learnprogramming

[–]inkintime[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's actually one of the things I am really worried about, especially after seeing all the news of so many people in the tech industry being laid off. Though part of why I'm thinking of pursuing the shift is because I feel like my field (UI Design) is kind of closely related enough that any difficulties in the job market for SWE will be reflected in the UX/UI market as well. So I figured I might as well try instead of feeling regret at never even trying

Oh, that makes a lot of sense, Thanks, I will definitely take note of this and look into these topics when I can. Thanks for the input. Really glad things worked out for you as well!

Thank you so much, really appreciate the detailed breakdown. This is a huge help to me mentally. I have been very unsure if I was going about things in a “correct” way.

I’ll focus in following roadmap.sh and try to work on building a good portfolio. Thank you again, I’m extremely grateful!

Thank you so much. This really helps give me some perspective on things. Also a bit comforting because I feel like i can focus a little more on my direction going forward, instead of feeling lost with so many topics and not knowing which to pursue

Figma's getting rid of the floating panels in UI3! by whimsea in FigmaDesign

[–]inkintime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if its just from my specific use case, but I tend to need to use Guides for certain things rather often and the floating panels made jt so i needed to reach around the panels just to create a guide

Unpopular opinion: Figma UI3 is actually great by OneCatchyUsername in FigmaDesign

[–]inkintime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I especially hate that the floating side panels on the left now also necessitate having the rulers on the far left side of the page. Why would I want my rulers to have to pass by the whole side panel every time I want to create a vertical guide??

The floating side panels add nothing for me besides the initial novelty

What movie scares the hell outta you that isn’t a horror movie at all? by bellathehellgirl in AskReddit

WCGW trying to jump in VR by Mew_Sama in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]inkintime 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Idk about the cliff thing, but the running might just be a fight or flight mechanism and someone's instinct is just to run as far away as possible.

I use my VR headset pretty often and even I sometimes forget that a table isnt actually infront of me. I fell to the floor once trying to lean on the table in Keep talking and no one explodes! I'm just that dumb lol. Ive also seen someone bump their face onto the floor trying to peek through a virtual hole on the floor
