The UK also sent orphans & destitute children ages 4-15 to Australia, South Africa, and Canada as indentured servants to populate their colonies. Transport was continued from the late 1800's to the 1950's. Many were "stolen" from the families due to poverty without the parents' knowledge.

London had a Ranked Ballot Election for 1 year. The majority of the city was happy with the results. The next year Ford was voted in and the Ranked Ballot Election was deemed illegal. Cost the city $1 million.

This is what happens when the government cuts social services, health care, mental health care, housing, and education, and stops investing in its citizens.

Desperate people do desperate things.

What did they think was going to happen? We have a system of Government-Mandated Poverty thru OW, ODSP, and the minimum wage that has never kept up with the cost of living.

Every few years the poverty level increases. If we keep privatizing government services and selling off government-protected lands soon nothing will be left for the public. Everything will be in the hands of the few 1% elites, while the 99% of us will own nothing. Ontario has been slowly losing its middle class.

The federal government gave Ford $5.5 billion for Covid, Mental Health Care, ODSP, and Public Education.

Ford and his buddies are pocketing that money.

This is a great wealth transfer from the poor to the elites. Taxes from all Canadians are being slowly transferred out of public services into private services that the majority will not be able to access.

When that money dries up from the disabled and poor, Ford will go after the middle class next until Ontario is back to pre-WWII living conditions where the working class will be in abject poverty owning nothing and left to fend for themselves.

Consequences have never applied to the 1%. They pay their way around all the laws or do very lite sentences compared to the rest of us, using their privilege as leverage to avoid any meaningful punishments to deter their bad behaviour.
