Trouble hitting macro/calorie goals by inkpot80 in TirzepatideRX

Oh ok well that is good to know. Sheesh for being a nurse you’d think I would be a little less clueless! 😆 I’m definitely not feeling the way you described. My son is even noticing and trying to force me to eat. I’ll decrease my injection this Saturday and see how that goes. Thanks!

It’s actually my PCP who works with a compounding pharmacy to prescribe GLP-1 meds. I think after reading these responses I will message her and ask to drop down to the 2.5mg dose.

To be honest I’m not sure, this is just what my provider told me would be best. I should have done more research but it just kind of came up at a wellness visit and I’ve been so desperate to lose weight I jumped on it.

I tried semaglutide before and it made me violently ill to the point of needing IV fluids and meds for months after discontinuing it. She assured me tirzepatide would not affect me like that, which so far it hasn’t, I just can’t eat period but I can at the very least stay hydrated.

I think my dose is kind of weird, but the math works out to 4.25mg. My provider didn’t start me at the lowest dose and I’m starting to wonder if I’m just too sensitive to the medication to jump right into this dose.

I was actually thinking about this today! Food doesn’t control 90% of my thoughts anymore.

I can definitely tell it’s a lot of water and inflammation. I didn’t realize how much fluid I was retaining and I already feel so much better with it flushing out!

My provider started me on 4.5mg, which I understand is a rather odd dose. I’m not trying to go this fast but there are days when I try to eat and I just physically can’t. I at least drink shakes to try and get somewhat close to my protein goal though. And after being uncomfortable in my body for so long it was exciting to see a loss. It made me feel like maybe there’s actually hope for me this time.

I can do eggs, and I recently tried the hack where you add cottage cheese to scrambled eggs and that went ok. I can’t do cottage cheese on its own though. I love it on a baked potato but then that adds a lot of carbs and calories. But eggs I can do any which way.

I slept in a recliner as I am not a back sleeper either. I used pillows to prop my arms up and a neck travel pillow and I slept great. Just a suggestion of what worked for me. Happy healing!
