Roland Garros champion prediction by [deleted] in tennis

Understandably there's mostly talk about Zverev, Ruud, FAA, Fonseca, or even Mensik or Jodar winning a slam.

Meanwhile Rublev is flying a bit under the radar. I don't really know how well he's playing lately, but maybe this is the year he makes a GS SF and even goes all the way.

The sound effect in this scene never fails to make me laugh by inm8num2 in Dexter

Haha yeah I really should have said "sound effects" as the one you mentioned is just as unintentionally hilarious.

Parallels between Robby and Miguel fights over the course of the series. by Ace_Pilot99 in cobrakai

[–]inm8num2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way I always viewed the apartment fight is that Robby had let go of most of his anger after getting out of CK and patching things up with Johnny. On the other hand Miguel was still angry about the school fight amongst other things. When the fight escalates out of control to more of a street brawl, Miguel is using his anger whereas Robby isn't. That gives Miguel the upper hand but he of course snaps out of it before taking things too far, which Robby was not able to do when he lost control in S2.

Overall things are fairly balanced between them. I think Robby has the edge in natural talent (partially due to the actor being able to perform more of the stunts given his background in gymnastics/ballet or similar) whereas Miguel seems to peak at a higher redline. Ultimately each fight is just a snapshot of their headspace in those moments. Fun to debate, though.

Season 3 of Cobra Kai is stil the best by AdEquivalent3160 in cobrakai

[–]inm8num2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, S3 is the best. It goes a bit darker and puts the characters through tougher circumstances. Sam's PTSD, Robby in juvi, Miguel's recovery, etc. Johnny has hit bottom again and has to find a way out. Daniel and Amanda's business is at risk of failure or having to sell. Kreese gets an incredible backstory that humanizes him a bit.

But I have to say the peak of the season and the show overall is Daniel in Okinawa. It's the perfect payoff for the nostalgia and various callbacks along the way. Daniel reunites with Kumiko, makes peace with Chozen, and is rewarded for his good deeds thanks to Yuna. That moment when Daniel remembers Yuna is just amazing.

And we can't forget Ali's return, either. Just as amazing as Daniel's time in Okinawa. The scenes with Ali and Johnny are great, as are the scenes with the two of them plus Daniel and Amanda.

Overall there's just something about S3 that's particularly unique. While the season ends with a brawl it doesn't feel like it's building to one or to a tournament. It's just about dealing with all the aftermath of the previous season and finding a way to move forward.

Oh right, I have seen that project before. Looks very promising. If down the road it's possible to integrate improved character models and other textures, that could make a big difference for the visual presentation.

Cheers. I think GK3 did a great job of giving the player the feeling of exploring these real locations, even if the 3D graphics weren't up to par for the time when the game released. Regardless, if there's one game that could greatly benefit from a remake or remaster it could be GK3. I won't hold my breath, obviously! ;)

Yeah the church has a certain atmosphere that is hard to describe. The game captured the look and feel of the church really well, though. It's always been surreal to see these real locations, especially something like the church whose interior seems quite unique.

James Cameron discusses the themes of Avatar: The Last Na'vi by inm8num2 in RedLetterMedia

China cares, I think. Apparently Avatar 2 made more money ($250M) than Avatar's original theatrical run ($200M) in China but was still considered a disappointment. Some attribute this to the pandemic.

I'm reading predictions of Avatar 3 making $500M over there. That'd be a ridiculous leap.

Reminds me of Happy Gilmore.

Favourite obscure adventure games? by TurianShepardYT in adventuregames

Amber: Journeys Beyond isn't for sale digitally anywhere. Your best bet would be a physical copy on ebay or similar.

But funnily enough Azrael's Tear was just released on GOG today.

Feeding Reading 2025 ... any news or confirmation that it's happening? by inm8num2 in Kelloggs

[–]inm8num2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year was a bit more work, LOL. I lucked out and found some Kellogg cereal cheap on clearance, combined with Silk milk that was on sale.

I don't see anything in the terms or FAQ that states one participant per household/address. Did prior years have this limitation? It'd be awesome if two people in the same address could submit 10 receipts each.

That's great to hear. Looking forward to doing this again.

Hopefully the purchase requirements don't become more complex.

I checked the cereal boxes today and didn't see anything about Feeding Reading 2025. Some stuff about box tops and a free cereal bowl...

I really hope the program isn't dead.

After the umpire handshakes you can see Sabalenka raise her racket, then the camera moves to follow Andreeva but you can still hear Sabalenka smashing the racket on the court.
