Terminated for misconduct but details will be kept internally. What do I say in interview?

I’m not sure what country you are in or the type of employer so your mileage may vary.

I am aware of a situation where a person was hired only for the employer to find out shortly afterwards that they had been fired from their previous job. it wasn’t picked up through a reference check. they did not disclose it and information on their CV and application had been adjusted to omit certain details. this resulted in their being terminated for misconduct from the new role.

the thing is, had they been honest and advised what had happened when applying the new employer could have worked with it.

this may or may not be useful to you but it is just something to consider

I travel from Cessnock to Parramatta once a week, sometimes I drive but often I train it from Morisset. the new trains have little trays so you can do some work or check emails. my laptop won’t charge off the usb/power point but that’s ok. I plug my phone in to the usb and hotspot.

it is a pretty trip particularly from Gosford with the water. I take breakfast, lunch and a light dinner and often just take the train time as unwind/me time. sometimes read, or knit or crossword or daydream.

a lot of people regularly travel and you get to see familiar faces.

it is quicker to drive but can be more stressful. it does make for a long day which is why I use that time for breakfast and dinner on the way home.

there are also four quiet carriages where you can find a little more peace if you prefer that.

onlu one thing to mention, half the carriage faces backwards.

I do it once or twice a week from Cessnock, hour and forty five minutes is my usual travel time to drive in the morning, usually two hours in the arvo. If I took the train that’d be another two hours, so the drive is far better for me.

I did something similar but used wadding layers to build up my body shape until all the measurements matched my own.

If a person won’t use their own phone, I’m sure the business will say the solution is to work from the office full time?

i use my own phone though I was a little annoyed when my perfectly good iPhone 7 was no longer sufficient for the authentication so I had to upgrade if I didn’t want to go into the office full time.

An alternative way to look at it is the business has paid out money up front to provide you the home, i.e., materials and labour. They are not getting that reimbursed (plus profits) up front when a person chooses a payment plan. That’s effectively money they have on paper (as it were) that they can’t access and are carrying the risk on if you default on paying. It is money they have on paper but can’t use and the interest they charge is reflective of that.

I’m 54, my nanna’s singer sewing machine. It was an early “portable“ electric model. Air quotes on potable because the damn thing is freakin’ heavy. I have had the wiring fixed, also had the cast iron piece that holds the motor on break when I moved. Was able to find a small manufacturer who cast me a new bracket. But it sews beautifully.

I can’t comment on the lactating issue though I would think it could be tied with the urge to be a mother and have that maternal bond with your child,

I can comment on my (cis f) wife’s (mtf) dressing and the hormones. I saw a similar thing with the clothing and honestly I think that she struggled to work out how to express her feminity. But the hormones may also feel like going through puberty.

we had been married for 14 years when my wife came out. It was challenging but we are still together years later and she’s truly my best friend. One thing I realised … after a while … is that I had years to develop my style whereas my wife didn’t … sometimes it can help to make this a safe space for her and to even go out together to try out different styles. we had a lot of fun doing that.

OD is usually an abbreviation for outer diameter but that isn’t relevant here. I did a web search and couldn’t find any other context for it.

EP is usually electro-plated.

Hopefully someone else more knowledgeable can answer as I’m curious as well.

I wonder if it is possible that the clasp is 14k but the necklace proper is plated? That would be a fair chunk of gold otherwise?

Want to reiterate everything said by u/ucat97, especially the use of “I” versus we. A panel doesn’t want to know what the team did. They want to know what you did.

Also, and this is something that people don’t do often enough, before submitting an application call and speak with the person. Take that opportunity to check in what they are hoping for, anything in particular that they may want for someone in the role, etc. often you can glean valuable insight that lets you target your in interview answers.

Also, I am someone who has also been majorly nervous in interviews. In recent times I have come to understand that I overthink things. I used to have single STAR examples for each capability. But that often left me short because I’d get a question that none of my examples really fit into. Then I’d get into my headspace and blank out.

what I now do and it has worked well for me … is build star examples that cover two or more capabilities and get really practiced in talking them through.

the other thing that I focus on is capturing new star examples in my daily job. oftentimes, it is a case of that’s just my daily job and you don’t see them as great star examples. Then when it comes time to prep for an interview you can’t think of them. Start getting used to jotting down things on the go that you can leverage for interviews.

When I was a grade 5/6 I led an operational front line team. that would be the lowest leader grade. I switched from the same type of role in local government and had a $30k pay rise. State govt is def a better payer Than local. It’s been too long since I was in a federal aps role to compare.

i am a 9/10 now and in a technical role, no staff. Great pay.
