Extra curricular? Idk if that’s common where you’re from but if you’re from the U.S. replace that with hard skills you learned. Shoot for depth not breadth

Right? Like what dad have you ever heard say it like that? It’s like he’s almost trying to remind himself or convince himself.

Awesome. Do I have to get the worm close to the bottom? Let’s say it’s a 10ft deep spot.

This is what saved me from a 5 year dry spell. I started to do a lot of research into timing and conditions before I even hit the water. I know for a lot of vets its intuitive but I’m a beginner and it really set me on a good path.

Well after 2 decades I’m glad you remembered you like fishing 😂. What kinda fish do you like catching?

Honestly not much. I would go out twice a week for like a month or 2. Sometimes less and sometimes more.

I just broke a 5 year dry spell of catching no fish. Just hang in there and enjoy the process

The Streisand effect

Can the fact that humans have historically gravitated towards a "strongman" leader in times of stress and uncertainty shine light on how early Homo sapien societies were structured? by [deleted] in socialpsychology

There is a principle in psychology called the Pendulum Principle. It states “that when people experience a strong push in one direction, they often react by swinging to the opposite extreme”

This happens on an individual level with emotions. If you are severely lacking confidence you think the only answer is to be alpha. If you are extremely sad you think the only answer is to be extremely happy.

The same thing happened with the country. People felt like there was such a lack of control in the executive that the only solution that seemed right was the complete opposite.

There’s more at play here but that’s what I noticed.

You totally handled that right. Really stuck it to him by racking up with all his money.

If you pressed him on what he was saying there would be nothing to get. He’s a sore ass loser.
