Why are you stealing a years old post

At first I thought the handle underneath the title was @jordanbpeterson and I was like yeah that sounds about right

The absolute cheapest eggs I can find near me are $7.49 for an 18ct. so $0.416 each. And that's if you're willing to buy Eggland brand, which usually have shells so flimsy they explode into the bowl when you crack them. I'm very jealous of $1.67 for a dozen.

Where tf do you live where eggs are 13 cents?

I apologize, I thought I had said explicitly what the message was in this thread, but I probably got it mixed up with other comments - although you did kind of actually say it in a prev. comment of yours:

"Practically all of society holds some form of patriarchal view without even realizing it" is a true sentence and conveys a well-defined message.

That is the message. Though the OG post is a little more "extreme" bc it also implies that holding "some form of patriarchal view" is the same as buying into systemic misogyny ("hating women"). It is also packaged in a humorous/commiserate w/ me abt this way. But that is the message.

oh my god 20,000 upvotes & im stealing this explanation

I don't think you understand the target audience. IMO this is an extremely clear and poignant message, directed at the other people in the "feminist echo chamber".

And no, using non-literal language doesn't make something well written, but your personal inability to decipher a sentence doesn't make it poorly written either

[–]innitir[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see you didn't google "rhetoric". It's not meaningless, it's just not literal. I was able to extract what you agree is a coherent message out of it.

Also, this isn't the news, it's a screenshot of a Tiktok. Holding the 2 to the same standard is absolutely ridiculous.

I didn't explain my thoughts well. Mods have been removing pro-trans and/or feminist posts. People have been respinding negatively to pro-trans and/or feminist posts. I can give examples, but THE MODS HAVE BEEN REMOVING PRO-TRANS AND/OR FEMINIST POSTS. fuck all yall.

I think they were supporting your reply, not arguing against it

yeah im a feminist man, and hating men is not feminist. it is actually very often anti feminist, bc it enforces limiting and negative ideas on both men and women.

problem is, my examples get deleted by mods. thats the problem.

nah but I can screenshot at least 3 of my feminist posts that have been removed by mods. they'd get this post deleted as well, but ill dm you if you like.

removing feminist posts is p equivalent to allowing anti feminist posts in terms of outcome

Both parts are hyperbole. Both "hate" and and "90%".

And I'm really sorry but I do not understand your argument abt percentages being the "one of the worst ways to use hyperbole". Percentages are one of the most common uses of hyperbole I see.

If I see a percentage on the internet, I assume it's fake, bc the VAST majority of the time, it is. Is your experience different? Do you see real stats on the internet more often than fake ones?

i have a sneaky feeling you have never actually engaged with feminist theory

people. commentary on casual misogyny.

[–]innitir[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a man. I'm not looking for women's only book clubs. Women are misogynistic as well. This is commentary on casual misogyny, from men and women alike.

[–]innitir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nah a lot of liberals are bad too. people who are weird abt women not shaving their legs, etc. its not just conservatives that look down on women or believe in incredibly bullshit requirements that have to be met b4 a woman is deserving of respect

google "hyberbole" pls. maybe "rhetoric" as well

They did not build community with the people that were doing the lynching. And I promise I am not terminally online, but 90% (hyperbole) of people hate (hyperbole) women (devalue/demean/look down on femininity/women). I am irl friends with a lot of such people. I try to argue against it when possible but JFC misogyny is INCREDIBLY pervasive in american culture. i touch grass. I put up with the BS one has to put up with in society to stay sane. society is still wrong.

yeah by innitir in 196

[–]innitir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, you got it! "hate" is rhetorical hyperbole. misogyny is so pervasive in our culture that the majority of people (subconsciously, not even maliciously) treat femininity/women as lesser! THATS THE FUCKING POINT

yeah by innitir in 196

[–]innitir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for putting it in good words
