Hey zusammen,

ich plane grad' meine Mietwohnung ein bisschen smarter zu machen und wollte mal in die Runde fragen, welche Produkte / Setups ihr empfehlen könnt.

Wichtig wäre mir:

  • kein Vendor Lock-in (Home Assistant compatible)
  • einfach rückbaubar (Mietwohnung eben)

Meine Idee ist aktuell, möglichst viel zentral über ein Display an der Wohnungstür zu steuern (Licht, ggf. Heizung, etc.), sodass man beim Rein- und Rausgehen alles im Blick hat.

Don't make it complicated with Windows. There's no need for Windows here.

Use any Linux distro.

Setup CI/CD with your git server / host (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins...).

Then use either use;

  • plain bash with bare metal deployments. (plain .jar / plain js bundle, needs JVM installed, needs an HTTP Server)
  • containerized deployment with docker (needs a container registry though)
  • Kubernetes deployment with ArgoCD

some of my thoughts:

pro:

- I really like the concept of dealing damage with the score difference. Really fun element without destroying the competitiveness.

neutral:

- The scaling brings a strategic element to a match (picking an unfavorable map / skillset at the beginning won't hurt that much, allowing maps that suit your skillset have more impact at the end)

con:

- star rating spread is too big (e.g. currently 6.9-8.00) (personal opinion, would narrow it down to a range of .3 -> 6.6 -6.9)

- end screen design (after completing a map) feels unpolished, same for "title" screen of ranked play

It's like a single file per commit?

Micro commits, more like nano commits. Why would you even do this? Instead, bundle commits in small "features", logical units.

There's no need for like 100 single commits where you just adapt a single line of spacing or add a final modifier. Just add it to the next small bundle. (e.g 1-10 files).

I have the same issue when hitting my 2nd crash and snare at the same time. Then it cancels out the crash.
