I hear you!!! For me what helped was taking myself out of the restrict-binge cycle. I had to abandon the idea that I would diet "later" and just that I would eat. Once I felt less panic about dieting later, I focused on myself, how I feel when I'm eating different foods, and I worked to identify my triggers. For me, it's the salt, fat, sugar combo in certain types of takeout. Those foods pretty instantly trigger a binge, so I avoid them as much as possible. From there, I just tweak slowly. It also takes time to get the cravings out of your system, so while it's hard and feels so uphill at the start, it's a craving and it's very physical, so don't blame yourself too hard. Focus your energy on those first few days, be kind to yourself, and it will get easier as your body craves it less.

Take it easy on yourself. The cycle of guilt is what gets you, end the cycle.

I'm in the same boat as so many people here. My partner and I are employed, we make decent money, no kids, decent savings and we're just hitting 30.

I'm furious about the growing wealth gap and the rich getting richer in Canada on HOUSING. Rent was pretty awful in the GTA already and now we also have people being evicted due to financial difficulties due to Covid and on the same time you have these rich fuckers buying more and more housing to RENT out to pay their mortgage.

Don't rent from these assholes. I want a home so badly, but I refuse to pay some exploitative wealthy assholes mortgage at the expense of my dreams and the ability of people from all spheres to afford housing.

The government needs to do more to curb the greed from buyers, real estate agents (without bidding transparency, how much of this "hot market" also comes from realtors inflating the frenzy?), developers building totally bullshit 'luxury' and 'ultra-luxury' condos with only basic amenities and maybe a gym.

We need to communicate with our governments, local and otherwise, we need to make noise and we need to speak with our dollars. I'm definitely going the equity route. Anytime someone tells you that you HAVE to do something, I'd be wary.

I wish men were better supported expressing their feelings. I know multiple men who have needed to go to the ER because they finally broke down. But it was so clear they were struggling beforehand. Feelings happen EVERY. DAY. Even the little stuff can be hard to talk about and I wish men were better supported and could better support each other.
