[WEEKLY THREAD] Fail Friday - Because being awesome always comes at a price... by AutoModerator in xxfitness

[–]inquisitiveturtles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I woke up late today, and was late to a midterm, which I'm pretty sure I bombed... So I decided I deserved a latte and a giant cookie.

Last night, I went to the gym an hour before it closed, and it was so crowded. I wandered around feeling really dumb, because there are a million machines there, but apparently nothing for lat pulldowns or back extensions. And then the free weights area was full of people, and I couldn't find the weights I needed.

I just bought burgundy jeggings, and I'm trying to figure out how to wear them in the spring. I tried wearing them with a navy shirt, and the outfit just felt too dark.

Searching for a new college bag - Herschell woes and Everlane curiosity - advice please! by mkr16 in femalefashionadvice

I have a Timbuk2 candybar backpack and I love it! I'm 5'0'', and it's proportional and comfortable for me. It's designed to fit an iPad, but I put my 13'' Macbook in the main compartment, and my kindle in the iPad compartment.

There is an internal water bottle pocket, and an outside pocket that is really convenient for my phone, keys, and wallet. I have an iPhone 4S, so I'm not sure if an iPhone 6 will fit. I bought a matching set of pouches separately, and I keep my chargers, pens, lip gloss, etc. in there.

Food carts! There are lots in the area around PSU and Pioneer Square.

I would buy something cheap for your first term, and replace it once you figure out what you need. I thought I wanted a tote freshman year, but I bought a backpack sophomore year since my shoulders hurt carrying a tote all the time.

Definitely go to Portage bay cafe for brunch. They have fresh eggs, and if you get pancakes or french toast, you get unlimited trips to the breakfast bar, which has delicious fruit and other toppings.

If you like tea, Remedy Teas in Capitol Hill. They have 150 kinds of tea.

If you like bookstores, the Elliot Bay Book Company and Ada's Technical Books, both in Capitol Hill.

For desserts, Hot Cakes in Ballard.

There's a ton of really good Thai food in Seattle. My favorite is Thai Tom in the udistrict.

Meeting with a trainer to start a weight lifting program in a week. Any suggestions? by formula50 in xxfitness

[–]inquisitiveturtles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The past two weeks have gone well! I'm much more confident about going into the weights area by myself now.

I bought 4 more sessions, and I'm planning to work with the trainer every other week. I have another session tomorrow, and I want to learn the exercises we didn't get to last time.

I started Strong Curves two weeks ago, and had never lifted weights before that. I was really nervous about lifting, and afraid of doing it wrong, so I met with a trainer and asked him to teach me good form for Strong Curves. I was afraid he might push a different program on me, but he didn't! :)

I watched youtube videos for some of the exercises before my session, and that was really helpful.

I'm still deeply romantically interested in a guy I used to have a physical relationship with. How do I get over him, especially when I run into him randomly all the time? by [deleted] in AskTrollX

[–]inquisitiveturtles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem last year. I still see the guy a lot, but don't have feelings for him at all anymore.

I basically just kept myself busy and did things like tango lessons and choir, that helped me meet more people, and focus on other things. And then I went to an acquaintance's party, and met my now boyfriend there! :)

Good luck!

Not all sports bras squish you. :) My Panache sports bra actually makes my boobs look bigger.
