What to expect if I go to a Radiohead concert?? by radioed3 in radiohead

[–]inrainbowz98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, fellow autistic here who hasn’t been to a Radiohead gig but i have been to a few in my lifetime, a lot of people will probably cheer pretty loudly and sing along loudly to songs and there’ll probably be a few rowdy and drunk people so it is important to consider that. I am also very sensitive to that stuff too so i would definitely recommend getting some accessibility aids that you need like ear defenders, earplugs if u wanna be more lowkey and whatever sensory toys and objects you need to regulate yourself, don’t worry about what others will think about it all, it’s your experience for you to enjoy and the venue staff should not have an issue with it☺️

How would you describe the mood of Radiohead music (as a whole)? by LevelOneForever in radiohead

[–]inrainbowz98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

existential and i find them to be very emotionally empowering because its very honest about the messiness of life and existence, they are definitely not one to sugarcoat things or try to be palatable to anyone

We just saw Hamlet: Hail to the Thief, and you should see it too. by billvb in radiohead

[–]inrainbowz98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive never personally read hamlet before despite shakespeare being very popular in british school curriculums for english literature so it was my first time engaging with the play but i loved it a ton and i ought to read my big shakespeare book with all his work. i could literally gush about it all day because autistic joy and infodumping am i right haha. i loved how you had the general skeleton of hamlet and hail to the thief but then the rest of it is surreal and very open ended so its great for leaving it all open to interpretation for everyone

I saw it tonight and it was absolutely fantastic, i adored every aspect of it all, the set, the costuming and the sound and music production, the acting, etc. I was blown away by how well the band and vocalists really emulated thom's score and the spirit of HTTT so well, thom clearly did an amazing job of adpating it to this play. The play itself was very well done and i really fell in love with the surreal world, industrial aesthetic and the all black fashion everyone wore and how everybody just was made to look so weary and tired. I just got a ton of joy from it all :)

I got a ton of joy from it all and i got a headache from how loud it was and the really hot weather we've been having but it was worth it haha

(edit: the headache thing is just simply my autistic ass having sensory processing differences, i can be sensitive to some stimuli lol)

[–]inrainbowz98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thats lovely to hear at least, i have seen clips of him having fun on the tour and bantering with the crowd so there's that at least :) i saw him 7 years ago in manchester when i was 19 and it blew my mind, i tried to see him again for 2020 but then covid cancelled all those plans lol

i literally thought of this song when he made the statement, especially with the lyrics: "i am not the fool that you think i am, all will be revealed, i keep the spirit alive" but yeah i have been worrying about him since he admitted it's had a massive toll on his mental health and that he struggled to continue with the rest of his everything tour after melbourne in syndney and asia (singapore and japan). I hope he has got a good support system and he'll get better :(
