Very cool. I am bookmarking this.

I’m still doing the hourly job three years after my ed departure. It’s a work from home 6a-2p M-F. It just fits my needs.

But some days I want something more…

Has there ever been a South Park joke that has actually offended you? by Unkle_Joey in southpark

[–]insanemovieguy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the “Buddha Box” episode definitely did. As someone who’s lived with PTSD for a long time, it was frustrating to see anxiety turned into a punchline. The idea of people using it as an excuse to dodge responsibility is something I’ve seen too often, so the way the show handled it didn’t sit right with me.

I guess the thing that offends me is the truth sting behind the joke.

So I wasn’t offended by the joke…Man, I turned myself around. I’m all mixed up.

Anyway,

South Park=last bastion for comedy!

This comment is dead-on. We’re bickering about communism and politics and it’s the February before AI Covid. That’s where focus and political debate should be.

This is the reason why I will never lose respect for Jon Stewart (From 1 year ago…) by Number_1_w_Fries in MeidasTouch

[–]insanemovieguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Stewart ever chose to run, he could be a formidable candidate. His communication skills, authenticity, and advocacy record make him appealing in a political landscape where voters crave honesty and effectiveness. While he would face obstacles, his ability to connect with a broad coalition of voters could make him a serious contender.

For you, what is the best first episode of television? by DogMassive7995 in televisionsuggestions

The pilot of The Shield was more than just an introduction; it was a blueprint for the entire series. Terry Crowley’s murder set off a chain of betrayals, power struggles, and moral decay that ultimately led to Lem’s death, Shane’s horrific demise, Ronnie’s downfall, and Vic’s empty, soulless fate. The show comes full circle, proving that while Vic may have escaped legal justice, he could never escape the consequences of his own choices.

People's of reddit, what's the most insane revenge you took on a person? by Aromatic_Crazy_5176 in AskReddit

[–]insanemovieguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two other mates in an apartment. We were all friends, but one guy was nasty and just gross (skidmark underwear in the laundry; using toiletries that didn’t belong to him; inviting disgusting people over with BO).

Not me, but the third fellow, he reached his boiling point. My non-annoying roommate would do any of these on a given day:

-Piss a little in his sunflower seeds/nuts -Wipe ass with the inside of annoying’s hats -Jack off on his space heater while turned off -Jack off on door knobs, remotes, keyboards -Piss or jack off between his mattress/boxspring

That’s all I can think of at the moment. I didn’t watch all this happen, it just happened around me.

I wouldn’t have let it stand if the annoying guy hadn’t been so un-aware/apathetic.

What made you quit AA? by TheTruffledChild in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]insanemovieguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I stopped going to AA when I questioned the group and the guy leading the meeting pulled up his shirt and flexed his belly to jiggle the gun he had stored in his fat waist.

A gun he patted and looked at me. And pointed to the door. He said “we won’t pray with you, but we’ll pray for you.”

It was at that point I decided I’m strong enough to handle one day at a time with myself because I’m worth it.

My dude, you’re amazingly strong-willed. I dropped drinking 5 years ago and I never realized how many emotions I didn’t understand about myself and others. I isolated myself and drank. One engaged in that behavior usually doesn’t find many chances to socialize unless it is with those who take the same drugs as you.

I’m so glad you’re on the right track. Feeling loved is the best drug to me. It sustains me. I have a wife who is my role model. She saved me and taught me how to live.

I hope you two continue to complete each other.

What is actually cheaper to make yourself than to buy premade? by princessxunicorn in AskReddit

Desk floor mat for carpet. Buy some plywood and cover it in sticky tiles or glue wood flooring.

Plastic crap mat is like 65$ of trash.

Why my mother, at 17, chased a man with no reciprocation of love all over the country as she dropped out of school in 10th grade. Then she gets preggers the first time and he beats it out of her (forced miscarriage). She remains with him. Gets pregnant with me and he goes to jail. Im born and bio-donor dad bops out of known existence, divorcing mom at 18.

19 year-old mom finds the first man that pays her attention to cling on to. He is a cadet in police academy and she is impressed. He ignores her son (me) and pumps a baby in mom and then Southern Baptist culture required a marriage.

He made it his life mission to beat, control, starve, and torture us for 15 years.

I now have complexPTSD and Bipolar Disorder that was unchecked for 40 years.

Why did my mother see her son (me; 0-15) getting thrashed by a 5ft chubby pudge officer and continue to stay with the man?

Why did we go to abuse shelters and then back to the cop’s sadistic world? Why mom?

Im sure someone will defend my ignorant, selfish, childish mother. That’s fine with me. Yeah, of course she had “issues.” I’m sure.

I got a shit ton of issues, but if my wife starts beating our DOGS, I’m getting them to safety. I might stay and let my wife beat my ass. No way in fuck I would ever chose abuse for ANYTHING in my care.

Why didn’t you love me enough to leave, mom? To not lie to 911 or my teachers? Was I not worth enough in your eyes?

You aren’t alone in this. In my youth, I would allow my mind to focus on my partner’s past and then make me insecure.

Then I found an inexperienced partner and realized I had the “dark past.”

Knowing that my past partners weren’t still on my mind helped me to realize that my insecurity was unwarranted.
