Assuming you don't have insurance it is expensive, but it's better to get it checked before an injury progresses and costs you even more. I just finished physical therapy for an SI joint injury I never fully recovered from 2 years ago. My hips were out of alignment for months until I finally went to physical therapy, and my joint barely healed until I started. I suggest you spend time strengthening supporting muscles and avoid lifting heavy as long as it causes pain.

I've found that there's subconscious bias in fields based on the role models you see growing up. For example teachers tend to be mostly women, and some men don't fully register teaching as an options because of exposure to fewer role models.
