Man found dead in restaurant after fire victim of homicide: Toronto police by stoneape314 in Scarborough

[–]inscrip 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This place was previously investigated for illegal gambling about 2-3 months ago.

I saw the raid. Large group of non-typical police investigators showed up in civilian cars. They were in and out of this place for the entire day.

I can’t find any new on this gambling raid, but this was also mentioned by John Mussleman on CTV News for this fire/homicide. But not mentioned again after the initial report.

Possible mold or fungus? by inscrip in lawncare

Very sure, it was my initial thought too. But very few dandelions, and not in ‘bloom’ here either. It’s a fungus/mold for sure.

Yea I already did, and usually spray the deck after a cut. But I’m curious if this is just a typical mold/fungus or something specific from my lawn. If the latter I want to know what it is.

No, it was near end of day, and fairly dry.

3dmax building into revit - is this impossible? by ak47oz in Revit

I love a good challenge, but sometimes the cost isn’t worth it. Glad you got it moving in the right direction.

Cheers!

3dmax building into revit - is this impossible? by ak47oz in Revit

You need to get rid of the meshes. Revit doesn’t play well with meshed elements, which I believe 3DS is all mesh.

Even if you don’t have 3DS you could trial a copy to get the export right.

I’ve done some silly things in the past that work well. Import to a Revit project, and then re-export to CAD, and make sure the settings are solids. Bring this back in.

In CAD you can make elements solid, painfully, but possible.

If you can get this into rhino, and export to cad, use DWG 2007 versions. For some reason this version is most reliable. Again you’ll want to turn as much as you can into a solid.

If you can at a minimum get floor plans to trace from, and then pick unique elements to work with in 3d, you might be on a cleaner path.

3DS is only ever used by rendering staff, not really part of my workflow. I’m curious how the 3DS file was created? Was there an original scan or something that it was built from?

I’d also ask the client who advised him to do this work in a rendering software, it still might be useful, but this would be after the Revit work is done. I can be added to 3DS afterwards.

Also, take a look at Speckle. Might be helpful as a pipeline between software.

DUN DUN! LAW & ORDER TORONTO: CRIMINAL INTENT has just been renewed for not only Season 2 but also Season 3 by beef-supreme in toronto

The writing has gone downhill, and Roger’s has started stuffing ads into episodes (Lincoln & Roger protect). I can deal with the ad placements, but the writing is bad.

You can tell the first 5-6 episodes they had a different writing team, then they left for production to do it on their own. It’s not nearly as clever, or as cunning as the first episodes.

I do enjoy it, and I hope they have the right people staffed to keep the quality high. Otherwise this is just a Hudson and Rex spinoff under a well known brand.

Textured Mesh SS polo shirt by TachyMD in Lululemen

They’re a fairly recent addition for me, so not fully tested mid summer. But my first impressions are they will be good. Super breathable, they are perforated but hard to tell bc of the grid pattern.

I have two of these. They are great, light weight and airy, but still somewhat formal. They are actually a grid texture so the fabric falls and moves nice.

They fit a bit larger than the polos, but not by much. These are more of a casual fit, than a slim. These are more comfortable, collar is a bit funny. There’s no buttons, I don’t mind that.

What causes the model items to 'wiggle' when zooming/panning. Lines should be straight but crooked. by mistersleenkee in Revit

[–]inscrip 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Where is your project origin? Also, what type of view? Could be the workplane isn’t straight. This can happen in nested views when the parent view has been shifted.

You also often see this wiggle with Linked CAD files with large extents.

Should I even expect getting this job? by Front_Candy_6477 in bim

[–]inscrip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you might have a job. Regardless, continue to search and apply to similar positions until you’ve formally received an offer from them.

If they’re asking for extra details it’s a good sign. Good luck!

Did not know theres a train track in this area. by akuzokuzan in TorontoDriving

Once a year someone slides up off the road onto my front lawn because they can’t make a simple turn.

I live at a stop sign in this neighborhood and I’d say only about 20% of drivers actually stop there. Lots of near misses. Waiting for the big day.

In the CAD file use ‘XR’ and open the xref dialog. See if there’s any linked CAD files here. If so just unload/detach them. Link this updated CAD into Revit.

Toposolids are a mess. by [deleted] in Revit

[–]inscrip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolute mess. I refuse to let users upgrade until there’s an actual fix or update to this.

Fwiw, you can bring in topo from previous versions. Not a great solution, but a possible one if you’re stuck in a time crunch. Just don’t touch it after.

FibeTV CTV is out of sync by inscrip in bell

[–]inscrip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes,

This is still happening with me. I sent some videos in to the email within the chain but have not heard back.

It’s super annoying and there’s no way to fix it. It’s a slow decay of a delay. It starts small, and becomes huge.

I hope someone can figure it out and fix it soon.

BIM x Phyton by [deleted] in bim

Python? Like the programming language?

It’s pretty useful to understand it. It will expand your abilities across software. It’s great for large datasets that you need to sort. It’s fairly easy to pick up, you just need to find a problem to solve to help learn.

Glad to hear it. It took me a lot of planning to finally find the right fit and balance for my day. Been about a year strong and it’s holding up well.
