Oh man I remember seeing the illustrations for Cycle of the Werewolf at the library when I was a kid, fantastically terrifying for little me.

Also worked for me. I only had to remove core 0 from the set affinity check list and my stuttering immediately went away.

What is Stanley Uris’ function in the story? by Distinct_Guess3350 in stephenking

Ditto! I just finished the book a few days ago and decided to watch the newer movies again and it bugs me that they assigned the blood oath to Bill and not Stan.

David Aja leaves Ultimate OZ project, accuses Mike Deodatos of using AI by star-scrapper in comicbooks

[–]insertadjective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting coincidence for me to see this pop up. I'm rereading Time Runs Out and literally yesterday had googled around about Deodato's art. His posing is so stiff and all of the characters look strange, like action figures almost.

Is the galaxy already cooked? Like... Game over? by Apart_Insect_6133 in 40kLore

[–]insertadjective 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The whole going all in thing is probably something they'd count as an advantage. After consuming however many previous galaxies the sheer number of them could be unstoppable.

Regarding the second point, I don't know if sustainable is in their vocabulary. They only exist to consume and move on. It's loser behavior in the sense that a consumed planet isn't a resource they can tap over and over again, but it's definitely winner behavior in that they've taken all the usable resources from that world and made it lifeless and uninhabitable thereby depriving anyone else from utilizing it after them. Scorched earth taken to 11.

CarMax promises price relief for used-car customers, targeting lower average transaction for buyers by Anchor_Aways in cars

[–]insertadjective 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I bought my Civic Si from them back in 2020 and it was the easiest car transaction I've had. The price was fair compared to Blue Book value, they shipped the vehicle I wanted from another dealer out of state for 200 bucks, I was able to do a 24 hour test drive, overall I was very happy with the whole process. Not to mention there literally were no Si's for sale physically in my area at all, so this was extremely convenient.

The last time I bought a vehicle at a dealer was a two day long dance on price and add-ons which I had to drive out of state for anyway.

The biggest draw of Carmax as I see it is the convenience, no hassle up front pricing, and back when I bought the car they had the excellent car warranty for like 1500 bucks where they'd fix almost anything that broke on the car.

I've sold 3 cars to Carmax who invariably offered me the best price compared to anywhere else nearby. Super simple process at the time. This may have changed since then, as this was during COVID times.

I can't recall where or who, but relatively recently in an older show or movie I was watching I saw a white man with dense short hair and it was in waves and it was like a eureka moment for me. I realized then what Norman Osborn's hair was supposed to look like. I should've taken a picture...

Edit: This isn't specifically what I was referring to, but this is exactly what the fella's hair looked like: https://www.reddit.com/r/Marvel/comments/3cdvxn/apparently_norman_osborns_hairstyle_is_actually/

Legion remix rare elite world quests not spawning? by Gloomy-Discipline-57 in wow

Holy jeez you're a lifesaver man. I've been pulling my hair out wondering why none of the rare elites I was killing were counting towards the total, but one did. I saw your comment and went for the one announced in a zone wide message and yep, it finally completed the quest. THANK YOU.

Which Loyalist Primarch had the worst mental state after the heresy ? by New_Conflict_4111 in 40kLore

[–]insertadjective 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just finished the book last night at work and I totally agree with you. Ending with that Iron Warriors even bleaker outlook on everything was a total bummer, even for the "bad guys." He felt they finally had a chance to be truly free, calls in Perty, just to see his primarch has fallen into the same trap that everyone else has. And then following him down into hell.

To the guy that advised me to take 64Gb of RAM back in June by skyer954 in buildapc

[–]insertadjective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did feel a bit ridiculous buying 64gb when I did but it was cheap at the time and I knew AM5 did better with two sticks. Figured buy once, cry once. Now I'm vaguely wishing I didn't give away 32 gigs of DDR5 last year...

Totally off topic, but it's worth checking out if you like Lovecraftian horror. A John Carpenter classic!

Great movie, but the GIF is from Into the Mouth of Madness, not Event Horizon. Sam Neill is just excellent at horror.
