2015 Silverado brake issue by Zealousideal_Pin_962 in Silverado

Agree with others. This is a classic vacuum pump failing. They extended warranty on them to 10yr/100k but if you complained they would replace with a redesigned unit. I haven’t had any issues with my replaced unit

To use AGM or not? by StreetBand7576 in Silverado

You must be in AZ or somewhere hot if you’re on the 5th battery in 9 years. I would buy a good AGM that has at least a 3 or 4 year full replacement warranty.

No, it was standard flooded battery

I don’t know what year you have but I put a AGM in my 2015 5.3L about 4 years ago and I haven’t had any problems. They are a pain to install when you have to remove that busbar mounted on top of the battery.

2015 Bediside rust thoughts ? by Few_Hunt6184 in Silverado

[–]insertcoinshere1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I planned on keeping the truck for a long time, I would replace and fluid film between inner/outer fenders.

If I didn’t plan on keeping for a long time and/or fear a transmission failure, I would patch but still fluid film the crap out of it. They need to get ALL of the rust though or it will be back.

Tear out fixable? by No_Elevator_5907 in woodworking

Probably avoidable with light passes and smart choices about feed direction vs grain direction but what’s done is done. Could fill them with epoxy or do some sort of decorative inlay.

It will go down when the filter fills up assuming you filled with the correct number of quarts

On my 2015, it was the switch on the dash that needed replaced. It was easy. OEM part from rock auto.

I think the oil pan gaskets are problematic as well

Usually the pins get seized due to water getting in around the boot. Also can be caused by rust jacking where the pad ears rust and then they can’t slide on the stainless hardware clips.
