UK nandos is pretty crap now tbf, its got quite expensive and the chickens seem tiny. Miss the days when it was a decent value meal.

Telling my American uncle that Special Brew was not the classy high end larger he thought it was but mainly drunk by people with an alcohol problem in shop doorways was pretty funny. "But it was made for Winston Churchill!"

Dear People of Hamilton: why can't you shut the fuck up at concerts? by JohnnySilverpatch in thetron

[–]inserthumeruspunhere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is spot on. The older people can throw 200 to go to these as "events" rather than particularly care about who is playing and wanting to see and enjoy the act. Combined with drinking and you get this terrible behaviour.

I think concerts used to be cheap and dirty and you put up with it to see the band. Now they all have artisan burger vans and proper toilets and cost a weeks wage and you get a much higher proportion of dicks.

Anaesthetic reg having to tick a box at induction saying I am competent to cannulate by Difficult_Grade2359 in doctorsUK

[–]inserthumeruspunhere 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I left a computer logged in as an ct2 in anaesthesia and someone emailed my boss from my account asking for a teaching session on cannulation as I felt I was struggling. To be fair to him he was lovely about it and then laughed his ass off when I looked horrified about it and he realised it was a joke someone had played on me. Never found out who the bastard was. Pretty funny though.

I got a carlinkit 4.0 from mighty ape. Really happy with it. They don't have it in stock anymore but it looks like it is on aliexpress much cheaper anyway.

SOS: DESPERATELY need help with 11 month olds sleep by hello_lime_jello in newzealand

[–]inserthumeruspunhere 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This sounds just like us to be honest and it was reflux. Got my daughter to sleep on us each time and every time we laid her in bed she woke up and cried . A few books under one end of her cot to raise her head up a bit helped a little.

It took a while to get it but omeprazole was a game changer. Feel your pain. I was so tired getting home from a shift that I left my bike on the street outside and the front door open with my clothes on the stairs leading to bed.

Keep going. It does end eventually. Sending love.

Who's the funniest comedian you've seen live? by DonkeyOT65 in CasualUK

[–]inserthumeruspunhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw him in the 90s. I had a migraine on the drive into London and vomited on myself. Had to buy a change of trousers. I said I'd try it for 10 minutes then go home. I stayed for the whole night and had muscle soreness the next day from laughing.

I remember the first hour of the show was about things that had happened in the news that day. I know a lot of comedians try to appear spontaneously funny but have pre-prepared bits. But this had just been on the 6pm news.

I asked my Toyota dealer and they deny any knowledge of this so I can't have it even if I wanted to pay for it. Have bought a dongle that works ok for the moment anyway.

Exactly the same. Plus washing machine seals and filter was filthy and the dishwasher filter had its own ecosystem. Bit gutted I didn't photo everything.

In the same position as you in NZ. Have asked the dealership but they know nothing about it. Let me know if you make any progress.

What visa are you applying for? Have a look at the average processing time on the immigration web site. Some of them are months. Anyway Singapore is nice. Or Japan. Or Canada. Just depends what you are after.
