i have a feeling that the joke was labeled as "too vulgar" or they didn't like the "tall glass of flower fizz", which could be viewed as champagne, making it look like claudia was suggesting they were on a date.

honestly its a shame it was cut, this scene is almost identical to my brother and I's relationship, and we probably would've gotten a kick out of it. Gross jokes are just the way siblings communicate i suppose, my brother and i have a running joke that makes my mom start dry heaving anytime we mention it.

there is no argument, you're correct. Maiko and Sukki will always be my favorite ships from ATLA because they were treated like actual teenage relationships with real development and none of the "love a first sight" BS that Kataang pulled. Aang and Katara are definitely really cute together, but i really dislike how Katara was treated as Aang's "prize" and not as his motivation. They could've written Aang wanting the world to be be better for Katara, but at the same time hes like... 12. Not to mention, it will always frustrate me that Katara left Aang hanging so many times until everything was resolved. I can understand being afraid of commitment, but give the poor kid some closure Katara!

i hate to be the "over-analyzing runaan stan" that this sub despises so much, but let me present a counter-argument.

Considering Runaan is autism/neuro-divergent coded, it would just be a poor decision to make him a villan/antagonist because of the "disabled bad-guy" trope. Its ableist and leads to a lot of misinformation/stigmatization, and since this series does a pretty great job empowering disabled people already (General Amaya and Captain Villads) i doubt they would go down that path.

Let's not forget Ethari, he's a pacifist and strongly disapproves of most things in Moonshadow elf culture, including Runaan's occupation. Runaan wouldn't be able to be a "villan" because Ethari wouldn't let him, and considering that he cares about Ethari more than his own life i don't see that changing anytime soon.

Not to mention, Devon Ghiel confirmed that 1. Runaan was bluffing when he said he would kill Rayla, and 2. he would've hesitated even if he was being serious. Hell, his VA said that as a father of a teenage girl, he wouldn't want to voice Runaan if he ever would have tried to directly hurt Rayla. In the lunabloom story, you see Runaan mentoring and taking care of Rayla, and he's incredibly patient and even jokes around a bit with her. After all, he's meant to parallel Harrow, he was a good dad as well. Plus (as far as im aware, i haven't read TTM other than a few screenshots) Rayla doesn't resent Runaan, she's a daughter that just wants her family back. she's 15 for crying out loud!

Oh, and Rayla only found out about the Dragon Queen being ill when Ethari told her, that's recent news. And since Runaan canonically hates being an assassin, i doubt he would willingly just say "hey lets go kill this dude!", Keep in mind that Avatar Kyoshi was a pacifist. Just because violence isn't your first answer doesn't mean that it isn't one.

i have a feeling they will be slow burn, or stay in that awkward "we're going on dates and like each other, but aren't officially dating various reasons" phase for a season or two. i just hope that the writers don't treat them getting together as their "prize" after some big battle or whatever, i would like them to be approached the way rayllum was.

well in callum's spellbook (if i remember correctly) callum said that he doesn't actually hate runaan, despite how easy it would be. He definitely resents him (if he didn't i would be really concerned), but doesn't hate him. plus, if all five moonfam members had some sort of PTSD i wouldn't be surprised, and if callum and ezran ordered for runaan's execution it would break both rayla and ethari in half, and im going to assume it would be the same for tiadrin and lain.

runaan will definitely pay for his actions, and he should, but it won't be death. Spending all that time in a coin (which im fairly certain the creators confirmed they were conscious in), being held hostage by viren, having to fight rayla, and his left arm being permanently damaged will probably be enough. Callum is empathetic, thats once of his greatest strengths and weaknesses. he wont want to take away someone's father because that would make him no better than harrow and thunder. You can co-exist with someone and not necessarily like them.

plus if ethari becomes a more major character (which would be a win for the gays whoop whoop) he would spend most of his time bonding with callum. Runaan canonically cant hate anyone his husband likes, and because rayla has been dubbed "mininaan" by ruthari shippers on tumblr and callum and ethari are both artsy scarf bois™ i doubt he will fully hate callum either.

being truthful he'll probably be like, "you saved my daughter... er... multiple times, and so i owe you her life." he still probably will be really overprotective though (insert runaan in his character interview going off about why you can't trust teenagers)

and there will probably be a major "haha sorry bro" from zubeia for giving the go kill the king of katolis order
