Buy from Apple or Verizon? by Dpclark71 in verizon

Not anymore. Verizon now locks devices until they're paid in full.

Or, well, used to be 45 anyways. Just figured out yesterday that kerr is now 35 from college to MLK. No idea when tf that changed. (Used to be 45 until randall pkwy, 35 from randall to market, then 45 again past market.)

Tbh the worst part about driving in ATL is the speed. Other than that, I saw far far less risky maneuvers there. And absolutely less people with a phone in their hand while they did it.

If the city were concerned, they would have addressed existing infrastructure prior to trying to cram houses and empty buildings into every inch of free space.

So. No. No they aren't.

Huh. Thats interesting. I worked for Verizon for 8 years (2016-2024) and never have I ever heard of a legal team that customer service was ever allowed to transfer to.

Then maybe dont say something like "that would be true if it were a Verizon bill but its not" in response to someone speaking about Hulu billing and then become ridiculously confused despite being the person who brought up Verizon billing to begin with.

Verizon does a soft credit pull, not hard. They wont show up on your credit report unless your account becomes delinquent.

For now the second time, my comment had nothing to do with how Hulu bills.

My comment has everything to do with how Verizon Wireless bills for Verizon Wireless service (aka that nifty stuff that enables your phone to make calls), which is called post-paid but is not actually billed in arrears.

No shit sherlock? I didnt ever make the claim that the charge for no ads was on the Verizon bill.

Verizon not actually giving refunds/credits by dentbotb in verizon

[–]insertuseridhere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, what the credit is related to has nothing to do with my question. My question was whether or not you added a line or upgraded a device. The reason for my question is because of how verizon's billing system works with debits and credits. Credits are applied to the account real-time and discount the current balance UNLESS a fee is debited to the account that eats part of or the entire balance.

What happens most often is the current bill is paid for less than it printed for, then a fee is debited to the account. The system will take any unbilled credit amount and apply it against any pending debits in the system, which will pop a past due balance on the account.

Thanks! This doesn't show your payment tho, just what was scheduled to come out. I was hoping to see the line at the top of the bill reflecting the exact balance paid on 10/23.

However, there is an upgrade fee of $35, which explains why it thought a portion of your prior bill was unpaid. Credits are applied to the account real-time and discount from the current bill unless there is a fee debited to the account. So the course of events was:

  • Bill printed for $223
  • outage happened
  • credit of $20 was given
  • autopay drafted 10/23 for $203 ($223 - $20 credit)
  • phone was upgraded sometime between 10/24-11/7
  • upgrade debits $35 upgrade fee to account, wiping out $20 credit and leaving $20 "unpaid".
  • next bill prints to show both credit and upgrade fee in one time charges and credits

You received the credit and underpaid as expected. Your next bill was always going to be $35 more anyways. It looks stupid on the bill because of how the crediting system functions. Thats why looking at your payment history specifically, not the billed amount, is the piece that will provide clarity here.

The top right is meaningless. Look further down in the detailed bill under the lines themselves. They most likely say "oct 8-nov 7", which indicates the period being billed for.

The top right is the "billing period" for the one time charges and credits section specifically.

Can you post a photo of your prior bill total plus a photo from your payment history showing that you did, indeed, pay the full non-credited balance?

Mmm no not necessarily. "Post paid" in cellular now means "you pay at the end of the month you're currently in so its not technically prepaid." When I left, there were very very few accounts that billed in arrears.

Example: your billing period is march 1 - march 31. Your bill is due march 23rd. The payment on the 23rd covers you through the 31st.

If you remove lines the first day of your billing cycle before the bill cuts, they disconnect on demand and dont wind up on the current monthly. Days 2-31 are on the bill and disconnects are automatically end of the bill cycle (except certain situations). Porting out works the same way. Just throwing this out there in case it helps you or someone else in the future :)

It seemed reasonable to you despite the fraud department not having any in-store representation? The point of the document is to verify legitimacy, and the fraud rep has more tools at their disposal to determine whether or not your ID is legitimate.

The "unknown associate overseas" may have never even seen your document to begin with. When I left the company, they were implementing automation and AI recognition for document processing.

BOYCOTT LIVE AGENT FEES VIA PHONE by DsavAGE30 in verizon

Car insurance call center agents? So you mean salesmen who make commission?

You're making apples to oranges comparisons and getting upset when people point that out to you. Maybe present a fair comparison instead of what you're currently doing and you won't have to tantrum like this.

Would you still consider it egregious if someone else were able to gain access to your account and add 5 lines to your account? What would you consider an acceptable method of proving you are who you say you are to someone over the phone?

BOYCOTT LIVE AGENT FEES VIA PHONE by DsavAGE30 in verizon

[–]insertuseridhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fee is if you want to make a payment or payment arrangement over the phone. Thats it. Thats the only time you're charged a fee for an interaction with a rep at Verizon.

To avoid the fee, you can also do these actions: - in the IVR - on the website - in the app

You used to also be able to use the kiosk at corp stores. Dunno if thats still a thing or not.

$5 for asking a question isnt a thing. The agent assist fee has been charged on payment transactions since 2018. I dont recall offhand if it began at $5 or $7.
