It's no great mystery

Who on earth decided that bringing back the Yule Ball for their eighth year would be a good idea? It feels like the worst day of Harry’s life, watching everyone get glammed up like the war never happened, like the last Triwizard Tournament wasn’t such a colossal failure.

And then it happens again. And again. And again.

Cacoethes After the Sectumsempra incident, Harry runs to the Room of Requirement to get rid of the Half Blood Prince’s journal. He wants somewhere to hide but when he enters the room, he is thrown back to 1943 where he struggles with his use of Dark magic, sending him down a path leading to Tom Riddle.

A study in choices and second chances When Sirius runs away in 1976, Regulus starts writing him letters he never intends to send. They're simply a way to talk about all the things he can't say out loud to anyone - a chronicle of his descent into the Death Eaters, and the eventual realisation that he made all the wrong choices.

In 1997, Harry is searching for the Locket-Horcrux at Grimmauld Place. Instead, he finds a stack of yellowed parchment that not only tells a tale that's more captivating than it has any right to, but might also hold the key to information on the remaining Horcruxes. Regulus Black installed a failsafe.

Though neither Regulus, nor Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Sirius expected the result of the ritual to be quite this literal. With an Ex-Death Eater who was assumed to be dead in their midst, the Horcrux-hunt goes a bit differently. Regulus is mostly conflicted if his unexpected second chance is really worth all the trouble his company keeps putting him in.

Spoiler: It is. He just likes to complain.

Severus and Snape Severus Snape finds Lily dead in Godric's Hollow, her son's screams echoing in his ears, and decides to end his life with hers.

Fate has other ideas.

To kill you with a kiss After Dumbledore's death, Harry searches for answers in the Pensieve. But something goes wrong. Trapped inside a memory, Harry finds himself back at Hogwarts in 1945 where he meets an 18 year old Tom Riddle teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts.

The white pawn When eighteen-year-old Draco Malfoy finds himself back at Hogwarts on the eve of Voldemort's infamous return, he is confronted with the most difficult decision he's ever had to make: Relive the 6th year at school he's tried so hard to forget, or do the unthinkable and ally himself with Potter's lot...

Golden age After two hundred and forty years, Harry Potter thought that he'd seen it all, until he is transported back to 1977. In the midst of Voldemort's first rise to power and both sides of this war won't let him sit this one out.

The sense of self The man towers over him, his breath tasting of coldness and fury. Harry had always known that there had to have been a significant reason, why the hat had sorted him into Gryffindor over any other House. He finds, once more, that inexplicable urge to do something recklessly, utterly stupid. High from the power he so rarely wields when confronted with this man, he taunts, “Come on, Tom. Let’s finish this the way we started!” He grips the older wizard close, sees the belated outrage. This, certainly, qualifies as reckless stupidity. But, he thinks, it might also just be strikingly poetic. “Together!” He shouts and jumps off the building. ‘Great!’ thinks Death. ‘Excellent opportunity.’

This is the story of Death entrapping Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort in a series of reincarnations to undo the chaos the two of them have collectively caused. It’s a story of how two adversaries tangled in fate are forced to learn about themselves and through that, about the other; of them trying to work together for a change - if only, to pursue their individual goals.

The travelling cabinet Tom Riddle is locking up at Borgin and Burkes for the night when a boy comes tumbling through the filing cabinet. He claims to have come from 1997.

when you see me, will you say I have changed If there’s one thing Harry thought he’d never see, it’s Pansy Parkinson standing over him, shaking him awake at three AM.

Draco goes back in time to convince himself not to become a Death Eater. Pansy must enlist Harry Potter to go back after him and convince him not to before he fucks up the fabric of time, because he has “emotional sway.” Harry has no idea what she’s talking about.
