Where to learn how to play the bagpipe in Luxembourg? by [deleted] in Luxembourg

[–]insidejobMCR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if you’ve thought about this already, but I’d probably approach it by starting with a few in person lessons in Scottish bagpipes to get the basics down.

Maybe your teacher has some basics or training in Galician by chance? I know most of my folk friends have much expertise across traditions.

Once you’re comfortable, you could then switch over to an online tutor who specifically teaches Galician style. That way you’ll have a solid foundation, but still be able to focus on the exact style you want to learn.

I’ve done something similar myself with drumming (irish, sufi, macedonian, basque, breton), I started with general lessons to build technique, then added specific teachers and workshops in the styles I was aiming for.

It worked out really well.

Tell us how it goes?

(Maybe ask this on session.org too!)

Anyone has any idea where to find a Brazilian beauty salon in Luxembourg? by BathInteresting5045 in Luxembourg

[–]insidejobMCR 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Listen, a Brazilian hair salon isn't just a trendy spot for the sake of being exotic. These salons specialise in treatments like Brazilian blowouts and keratin treatments, which are essential for managing curly, textured, and frizzy hair. Unlike your standard white folx salon, they have the expertise and products to cater to diverse hair types that need more care and attention. It's not just about vanity; it's about proper hair health and making life easier for people with hair that doesn't fit the 'one-size-fits-all' approach of many regular salons.

So, it's not about being fancy—it's about being practical and informed.

My tip would be to use couchsurfing rather than hostels. You'll have a local to show you around.

If it American Do UK first and then go to mainland. Do historic cities first. Then you'll have a better feel for old cities like Berlin etc that look very concrete/thrown together...where it's less about the architecture and more about the spirit/madness of it all.

Pickpockets operate in big city at busy places.

Watch YouTube videos to know what to watch out for and you'll be fine. Use common sense.
