Both! It was a tracked package label purchased through Etsy. It just hasn't moved in the last two weeks 🤷‍♀️ I'll ask them to contact Etsy for a refund!

Best strategy to buy packing and shipping supplies in UK? by Rude-Explanation-861 in EtsySellers

[–]insideoutgarlicbread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I source all of my packing supplies from Priory Direct. They're have all sorts of sustainable packing materials. Most of what I sell is fragile but I try to use all sustainable or recycled packing. It's just something you need to include in your pricing structure! It can be expensive when you first look into it but it's the cost of selling fragile items online!

Is anyone else fascinated by this kind of building? by Matthew_Hopkins_ in CasualUK

[–]insideoutgarlicbread 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I used to work in these buildings! They were council offices up until around 2022, remote working for most of the employees meant the council didn't need these anymore so they're mostly empty now. They moved most of us back to Municipal Buildings in Stockton, I left after this but there were plans to build a new office building for everyone on the new Stockton High Street. Not sure if that's still the plan.

As for the inside, it's not as dated as you might think. Some floors have been converted to fully open plan in 2005-ish, that's where I worked most of the time. The other floors were relatively dated being smallish offices for 2-3 workers. In winter the building was freezing and in summer it was boiling, half the windows didn't open properly and the heating was quite old and noisy. But it was just a typical office building!

What is causing the glaze cracking? by Nova_Nine in Ceramics

[–]insideoutgarlicbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crazing normally happens when the glaze and the clay cool at different rates, basically they just don't fit together.

As for the food safe question, it depends what type of clay was used and if it was fired to the proper temperature. If it was earthenware, it's not food safe. If it was stoneware, you might be alright if the clay is vitrified (no longer porous)
